Salomon QST Spark
By PTO Team, Based on official specs and professional review consensus · Spec analysis + professional review consensus on this ski ·
The take
“Salomon's entry into freestyle — affordable, playful, and honest about what it is.”
The QST Spark is Salomon's freestyle-leaning all-mountain ski at an accessible price. 85mm waist, twin tip shape, poplar core. It's built for the skier who wants to hit side features, mess around in the park, and ride switch without breaking the bank.
The poplar core keeps it light and flexible. It's easy to press, easy to butter, easy to spin. Short radius means quick turns come naturally — in trees, in moguls, and on tight features. The twin tip shape is functional for switch, though it's not as true-twin as the Faction Prodigy line.
At 85mm, it handles groomers fine and dips a toe into mixed conditions without embarrassing itself. It's not a powder ski. It's not a charger. It's a fun, versatile ski for the skier who doesn't take themselves too seriously.
Four sizes from 150 to 171 — this is clearly sized for younger skiers and smaller adults. The 171 is the max, which limits it for taller, heavier skiers. Compared to the Faction Prodigy 1 (88mm), the QST Spark is simpler, softer, and more affordable. The Prodigy is the step-up.
