The Descente Tech Sweat Parka is a pullover hooded sweat from the brand's .EX line, built for the time spent around skiing rather than out in the weather. It is not a shell and does not pretend to be one: there is no membrane and no insulation here. It is a soft, lightweight knit meant to sit over a base layer or under a jacket, closer to good sportswear than to technical outerwear.
Descente cuts it from a structured sweat knit it calls Cardboard Knit, in a regular fit through the body and sleeves. It is part of the 26FW Marco Odermatt Collection, the capsule named for the World Cup racer, so the branding is present but understated.
Think of it as the layer for the drive to the hill, lunch in the lodge, the flight home, and the everyday weeks between trips. It pulls on easily, packs down without fuss, and reads as sportswear more than gear. Because it is a sweat layer and not a waterproof piece, keep it under a shell when the weather turns. If you would like help with sizing, or with pairing it against a shell or mid-layer, the team at PTO is glad to talk it through before you order.
Available in icicle gray, cloud blue, mountain navy, and black, in men's sizing.
