Description
The Smith Descend Jr. Mips is a lightweight kids' ski and snowboard helmet for young riders who need adjustable fit, controllable venting, and Smith goggle integration. This 26/27 listing is offered in Youth Medium (53-58 cm) in Matte Black or Matte White.
A two-piece in-mold shell fuses the outer shell to EPS foam, keeping the listed weight to 400 g / 16 oz in Youth Medium. Zonal Koroyd and Mips are supplemental impact-management technologies; the helmet is certified to ASTM F 2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 Class B. No helmet can prevent every injury, so fit it level and snug and replace it after a significant impact.
The micro-adjustable dial lets a parent or young rider fine-tune the fit. Measure around the widest part of the head, just above the eyebrows and ears, and choose the size that fits now rather than leaving room to grow. The Snapfit SL2 ear pads are removable and compatible with audio chips.
16 vents and one-handed Regulator climate control let the rider open or close airflow as conditions change. AirEvac ventilation is designed to work with Smith goggles by moving warm air away from the goggle area to help manage fog. Goggles and audio accessories are sold separately.
This helmet is a practical match for kids who spend full days at the resort and for families who value a light shell, dial adjustment, and adjustable vents. It is not the right choice if the measured head circumference falls outside 53-58 cm for this listing, if the helmet does not sit level without pressure points, or if the rider needs a different head shape. Helmet fit is personal, so check it with the goggles the rider will use.
A Smith helmet bag is included.
