PTO Verdict
“A set-back camber board for women who want one setup for the whole mountain.”
Best for: Intermediate and stronger women after a single directional board for groomers, chop, trees, side-country and soft-snow days, riding a set-back stance and an edge that holds at speed. CAPiTA's weight table covers about 90 to 180 lb across 144 to 156 cm.
Not for: First-week beginners: CAPiTA puts its skill-level dot at 4 of 5, and one independent preview felt it firmer than the printed 5.5. Park, jib and switch-first riders, because the shape is directional, set back and tapered; CAPiTA's centered women's twin Birds of a Feather fits them better. Riders whose main job is deep powder, who should look at the Navigator's women's sizes and their deeper taper. Anyone needing a wide board or a length outside 144-156 cm. And riders who never wax, since HyperDrive is a sintered base.

Description
The CAPiTA Artemis is a new 26/27 women's directional snowboard for all-mountain and freeride days, built around camber underfoot and a set-back stance. It runs Resort V2 Directional hybrid camber with Flat Kick Tech, a Directional 5.5 flex on CAPiTA's own scale, and five lengths from 144 to 156 cm for riders of about 90 to 180 lb.
The profile does most of the work. Camber runs through the inserts, so the edge stays engaged when a groomed run turns to chop. Reverse camber toward the nose and tail lifts the contact points, which CAPiTA says helps the board land and float in powder, and CAPiTA's Flat Kick arcs at each end are there to quicken transitions. A 0.8 in setback and 4 mm of taper keep the nose riding high in soft snow. Inside is a Hover Core of Paulownia and Poplar, HolySheet TRI/BI fiberglass and four 30 mm Technora amplifiers, which CAPiTA adds for turning and ollie power. The base is HyperDrive, CAPiTA's sintered base, built to glide fast for riders who keep it waxed.
The Artemis suits women who already link turns and want one board for groomers, trees, side-country and the occasional powder day. It is the wrong board for first-week beginners, for riders who live in the park or ride switch half the time, and for anyone who needs a wide board: waists run 23.6 to 25.0 cm and there is no wide size. Riders chasing deep snow first should look at CAPiTA's Navigator, whose women's sizes add a radical taper. Park riders are better served by CAPiTA's centered Birds of a Feather.
Size by weight first: the 144 starts at 90 lb and the 156 tops out at 180 lb. CAPiTA's boot guide is US women's 6-9.5 on the 144, 147 and 150, then 9.5 and up on the two longest lengths. The Artemis ships as a bare deck, so bindings are a separate choice. We fit and mount bindings to your boots, check toe and heel overhang against the waist, and help you choose the length in the shop.

The take
“A set-back camber board for women who want one setup for the whole mountain.”
The CAPiTA Artemis is CAPiTA's new women's board for 26/27, and its brief is plain: one directional setup for the whole mountain. CAPiTA gives it the same one-line personality as the Mercury, "any time, any place, freeride machine," and its own terrain chart rates the Artemis highest on groomers and terrain versatility, with jibbing the weakest axis.
The shape tells you how to ride it. A 0.8 in setback, 4 mm of taper and a Blended Radial sidecut of 7.0 to 7.8 m make a board that wants to be ridden forward and driven through the turn. Spins and switch riding are not its job.
CAPiTA rates the Artemis Directional 5.5, the same number it prints for the Equalizer and the Navigator. One independent preview felt it closer to a 6.5 and more powerful than both, though not punishing, and said it rode best with an aggressive style. Our read is that the four 30 mm Technora amplifiers, where the Equalizer and Navigator carry two, are behind that extra drive. CAPiTA's own chart points the other way and sets the Equalizer's skill-level dot one ring above the Artemis. Treat the 5.5 as a starting point, not a promise of softness.
Among CAPiTA's 26/27 women's solid (non-split) boards, two others use the same Resort V2 Directional profile. The Equalizer also matches its sidecut family, flex number and setback, but uses a Meta Core, a Quantum Drive base and a nearly even nose and tail, in 142 to 154 cm. The Navigator's women's 143, 147 and 151 share the Artemis's Hover Core but add a Parabolic Radical Taper sidecut and between 7.0 and 9.8 mm of taper. Choose the Navigator when deep snow is the main job; choose the Artemis when the day could be anything.
Sizing the Artemis starts with CAPiTA's weight windows. The 144 covers 90-140 lb, the 147 100-150, the 150 110-160, the 153 120-170 and the 156 130-180. Boot size matters as much, because the waist only runs from 23.6 to 25.0 cm, with no wide version. CAPiTA lists US women's 6 to 9.5 for the three shorter lengths and 9.5 and up for the 153 and 156.
CAPiTA sells the Artemis as a deck only and does not make bindings. We fit bindings to your boots, set the stance from CAPiTA's reference widths, and the setup is confirmed by our technician at fitting.
Bindings we'd pair with it
Mount point: Set back 0.8 in; reference stance 48.3 cm / 19 in on the 144 up to 55.9 cm / 22 in on the 156. Our pick: No official pairing - CAPiTA makes no bindings.
The Artemis is sold as a deck only, with no factory binding pairing. CAPiTA does not list the insert pattern for this board. We fit bindings to your boots, check overhang against the 23.6 to 25.0 cm waist, and the technician confirms the setup at fitting.
Common Questions
- CAPiTA Artemis vs Equalizer: what is the difference?
- The CAPiTA Artemis and The Equalizer by Jess Kimura share Resort V2 Directional camber, a Blended Radial sidecut, a Directional 5.5 flex and a 0.8 in setback. The Artemis swaps the Equalizer's Meta Core and Quantum Drive base for a Hover Core and HyperDrive, carries four 30 mm Technora amplifiers instead of two and has 4 mm of taper against a nearly even nose and tail, in 144-156 cm against the Equalizer's 142-154 cm. One independent preview felt the Artemis the more powerful of the two.
- CAPiTA Artemis vs Navigator women's: which should I pick?
- The CAPiTA Artemis is the all-mountain choice and the Navigator is the powder choice. Both use Resort V2 Directional camber and a Hover Core, but the Navigator's women's 143, 147 and 151 add a Parabolic Radical Taper sidecut with 7.0 to 9.8 mm of taper, against 4 mm on the Artemis. For powder-first days, the Navigator is the better tool.
- What size CAPiTA Artemis should I get?
- Size the CAPiTA Artemis by weight, then check boots. CAPiTA's windows run 90-140 lb on the 144, 100-150 on the 147, 110-160 on the 150, 120-170 on the 153 and 130-180 on the 156. It pairs US women's boots 6 to 9.5 with the 144 to 150 and 9.5 and up with the 153 and 156.
- Is the CAPiTA Artemis good for beginners?
- The CAPiTA Artemis is aimed at women who already link turns, not first-week beginners. CAPiTA's own chart places it at 4 of 5 for skill level, and its camber underfoot and directional, set-back shape reward a rider who drives the board through the turn.
- Is the CAPiTA Artemis a women's Mercury?
- CAPiTA does not call the Artemis a women's Mercury, but it gives both boards the same personality line and the same Resort V2 Directional profile, Hover Core and TRI/BI glass. The Mercury is rated Directional 6.5 with a 0.5 in setback, no taper and four 25 mm CarbonFlax amplifiers, and starts at 147 cm. The Artemis is rated 5.5, sits further back and runs from 144 cm.
