Description
Burton's Women's Waverange X Pro (26/27) is a strap-binding snowboard boot that splits its fit into three BOA® zones, at the forefoot, the ankle hammock and the cuff, over a heat-moldable Asym Life Liner. Burton calls the flex a surfy mid-flex and gives it a Happy Medium label, with no flex number or last width; it lists US women's 5 to 11 with Regular and Wide options, and this page carries Black in Regular US 5, 6.5 through 8.5 and 9.5, plus Wide in 6, 6.5, 7.5 and 9.
Each zone gets its own dial on Burton's BOA® Triple Dial PerformFit™ Wrap. One sets the forefoot, one sets the top of the cuff, and the third pulls the Ankle Hammock, an inner cuff that keeps the heel seated in its pocket and can be adjusted on the hill. The Asym Life Liner closes with an asymmetric wrap cuff and hook-and-loop, and its DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ lining is there to manage sweat and reflect body heat back in. Underfoot, the X Pro Flex Vibram® outsole is EcoStep+ rubber with 50% recycled content, trimmed where Burton says material is not needed.
Burton writes the flex for the park and side hits, and its Happy Medium label for riders who ride a bit of everything. Take it as an all-mountain boot for women past the basics. It is the wrong boot for anyone on Step On: Burton says its Step On bindings work only with Step On boots, and it sells a Step On version of this boot separately.
Burton lists no weight and no binding size chart for this boot. Bring the socks you ride in: we measure your feet for length and width, heat-mold the liner, check the boot in your strap binding, and set the bindings up on a board bought from us.

Burton Women's Waverange X Pro
2026/27
Flex
Happy Medium, the middle of Burton's three-step Personality scale: Soft & Playful, Happy Medium, Stiff & Aggressive. Burton calls the flex surfy mid-flex.
Flex ratings are the brand’s own and do not compare across brands.
Among Burton's 26/27 women's strap boots, the Waverange X Pro is the three-dial version of the Waverange X. The Waverange X closes its shell on one dial and pulls an internal hammock on a second, over an Asym Imprint 3 liner and a Vibram outsole with 30% recycled rubber. The X Pro gives the cuff a zone of its own, moves up to the Asym Life Liner, which Burton calls the best liner it makes, and to a Vibram outsole whose EcoStep+ rubber is 50% recycled. Burton labels both boots Happy Medium, calls the Waverange X a softer mid-flex and the X Pro a surfy mid-flex, and used 'softer mid-flex' for the X Pro itself in 25/26, on the same spec list, so the wording is not a stiffness ranking.
PTO does not read the Women's Waverange X Pro as a firm boot. Burton's 26/27 copy describes the women's Felix BOA with a firm flex, though it labels that boot Happy Medium as well; a rider who wants support at speed should start there. The X Pro's case is fit. A narrow heel with a roomier forefoot, or an instep that hates pressure, can run the toe zone loose, the cuff firm and the hammock tight, a split that one shell dial cannot make. A first-season rider is better off in the two-dial Waverange X.
Burton's women's page repeats the men's description, features and tech cards word for word, so the nearest outside reads come from men's boots, and they pull in two directions. A retailer's bootfitter, writing about the men's 2027 strap boot, calls heel and ankle hold excellent, the toe box neutral, and the flex supportive enough to drive powerful boards. An independent review of the men's 25/26 Waverange X Pro Step On, which shares the three-dial layout and adds Step On cleats and a heel piece, described that boot as a very soft flex with very little response and found the ankle support on its dial not that supportive. The heel pain in that review came from the plastic that holds the Step On attachment, a part the strap boot does not have.
For sizing, the Women's Waverange X Pro follows Burton's women's chart, so a US 7 converts to Mondo 24 and a US 8 to Mondo 25. Burton gives no last width. On this page Wide covers four sizes only, so check a Wide size against the size list first. The two men in that Step On review split on length: one found his pair a little long against most Burton boots, the other wanted to size up. Measure and try it on before settling on your usual size.
Season to season, Burton's 25/26 and 26/27 pages for the women's boot list the same liner, hammock, outsole, lining, warranty and Happy Medium label. The 26/27 Tech Specs call the lacing BOA Triple Dial PerformFit Wrap where the 25/26 line read Triple Zone BOA Wrap, and the marketing copy was rewritten. With no change list from Burton, the 25/26 boot is a fair guide to this one.
Fit
Women's US sizing, Regular and Wide on this listing
Burton publishes no last name, last width or volume figure for the Women's Waverange X Pro. Burton offers Regular and Wide; this listing carries Regular in 7 sizes and Wide in 4, and only US 6.5 and 7.5 come in both widths here.
Snowboard boots are sized by foot length, not a shell-width figure.
Closure
BOA® Triple Dial PerformFit™ Wrap
Liner
Asym Life Liner — heat-moldable, with an asymmetric wrap cuff and DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ lining
Outsole
X Pro Flex Vibram® outsole in Vibram® EcoStep+ rubber
Technology
BOA® Triple Dial PerformFit™ Wrap
Three BOA® dials, each tensioning its own zone: the forefoot, the ankle hammock and the upper cuff. Burton describes a micro-adjustable, zonal fit that locks in the heel.
Ankle Hammock
An inner cuff that holds the heel into the boot heel pocket, tensioned by an external BOA® dial so it can be adjusted on the mountain, in Burton's description.
Asym Life Liner
Lightweight, heat-moldable foam, cut with an asymmetric wrap cuff that closes by hook-and-loop. Its DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ lining is there, Burton says, to manage sweat and reflect body heat inward.
X Pro Flex Vibram® Outsole
A Vibram® EcoStep+ rubber outsole with 50% recycled rubber content. Burton says it balances traction and durability and removes material where it is not needed to save weight.
Features
- ·DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™ Lining
Strengths
- +Three independent BOA dials set the forefoot, ankle and cuff separately
- +The Ankle Hammock holds the heel down on its own dial
- +The heat-moldable Asym Life Liner has an asymmetric hook-and-loop cuff
- +The Vibram EcoStep+ outsole uses 50% recycled rubber
- +This listing carries Wide in US women's 6, 6.5, 7.5 and 9
Best For
Women on strap bindings who want the forefoot, ankle and cuff tightened separately, and who ride the whole mountain with some park and side hits in a mid-flex boot. Riders who rank fit and comfort ahead of maximum stiffness, and Wide feet in one of the four sizes this page carries in Wide.
Limitations
- −Mid-flex in Burton's words; not a firm boot for charging
- −One men's review found three dials take longer than many BOA boots
- −Burton says Step On bindings take only Step On boots
- −Burton publishes no weight, last width or flex number
- −Outside flex reads of the men's versions conflict with each other
Not For
Not for Step On riders: this is the strap-binding boot, and Burton builds the women's Waverange X Pro Step On separately. Not for riders who want a firm boot for charging; Burton calls this one mid-flex, and PTO would start those riders on the Felix BOA, which Burton describes with a firm flex. Not for anyone who wants one quick closure, since three dials take longer to set. And not for a rider who cannot try it on first, because the outside flex reads conflict, all of them come from men's boots, and Burton gives no last width.

Common Questions
- Burton Women's Waverange X Pro vs Waverange X: what is the difference?
- Burton's Women's Waverange X Pro uses three independent BOA dials for the forefoot, ankle hammock and upper cuff, the Asym Life Liner and a Vibram outsole of EcoStep+ rubber with 50% recycled content. The women's strap Waverange X uses two dials, one for the shell and one for its internal ankle hammock, with an Asym Imprint 3 liner and 30% recycled rubber. Burton labels both Happy Medium.
- What size Burton Women's Waverange X Pro should I get?
- Size the Burton Women's Waverange X Pro by foot length on Burton's women's chart: US 6.5 is Mondo 23.5 and US 9.5 is Mondo 26.5. Burton offers Regular and Wide but publishes no last width, and this page carries Regular in US 5, 6.5 to 8.5 and 9.5, and Wide in US 6, 6.5, 7.5 and 9. We measure both feet in the shop before you choose.
- Is the Burton Women's Waverange X Pro good for beginners?
- Burton gives the Women's Waverange X Pro no rider level; it calls the flex surfy mid-flex and labels it Happy Medium. PTO reads it as a fit-first boot for women who have the basics down and ride the whole mountain. Three dials are a lot to set in a first season, and the two-dial Waverange X is the simpler start.
- Burton Women's vs Men's Waverange X Pro: are they the same boot?
- Burton's Women's and Men's Waverange X Pro pages share the same description, features and tech cards: three BOA zones, Asym Life Liner, Ankle Hammock and X Pro Flex Vibram outsole. The women's boot runs on Burton's women's size chart from US women's 5 to 11, the men's from US men's 6 to 15. Burton publishes no last width for either.
- Does the Burton Women's Waverange X Pro work with Step On bindings?
- No. Burton's Women's Waverange X Pro is the strap-binding version, and Burton says Step On bindings are only compatible with Step On boots; the women's Waverange X Pro Step On is the Step On model. Burton lists no strap-binding compatibility chart for this boot, so a PTO technician checks it in your binding at fitting.
- Burton Women's Waverange X Pro 2027 vs 2026: what changed?
- Burton's 2027 Women's Waverange X Pro lists the same Asym Life Liner, Ankle Hammock, X Pro Flex Vibram outsole, DRYRIDE lining and Happy Medium label as the 2026 boot, in Black both years. Its Tech Specs now name the lacing BOA Triple Dial PerformFit Wrap instead of Triple Zone BOA Wrap. Burton publishes no change list.
