Description
Burton Women's Step On X 2027 is a strapless snowboard binding for women's Step On boots, built on a single-component carbon-filled nylon baseplate with a 50:50 carbon fiber/nylon hi-back and Burton's Heel Grabber. It mounts on a Re:Flex disc, which Burton's Re:Flex documents pair with 4x4, 2x4 and Channel boards, and Burton gives it no flex number and no Personality tier; the disc card on its page is the Stiffest Disc.
Two toe hooks and a heel clip hold the boot, and a lever on the heel cup lets you out. Heel Grabber is an automatic lock that engages as you step in, and Burton says it reduces heel-cup movement for quicker, more direct toe-edge response. Burton describes the Stiffest Disc as glass-filled for maximum underfoot stiffness. Forward lean turns on a DialFLAD dial, SensoryBED and B3 gel cushion the footbed, and Burton publishes no weight.
Of Burton's four women's Step On Re:Flex bindings, this is the one with a carbon-filled baseplate and the Stiffest Disc card, and Burton's own description pitches it at aggressive riding and full control. We read it as a binding for strong riders who carve hard on stiffer boards. Newer riders, or anyone who wants more give, should look at the Escapade Re:Flex, or at the Step On Re:Flex for women; Burton rates both Happy Medium. It is the wrong binding for strap boots or men's Step On boots.
Size it from your boot, not your weight: S fits US women's 5-6, M 6.5-8.5 and L 9-11. When you buy, we match the binding size to your Step On boot, and our technician checks which disc your board needs. On boards bought from us, we mount it and set the Gas Pedal to your boot size.

Burton Women's Step On X
Step On family · 2026/27
PTO's verdict: buy the women's Burton Step On X if you ride women's Step On boots and want Burton's carbon-built Step On on a stiffer board, the rider the description sets out. Three checks decide the rest: which sibling fits you, your boot size and your board's mounting pattern.
The alternatives are Burton's other three Re:Flex Step On models for women. We point riders who want more give to the Escapade Re:Flex and the women's Step On Re:Flex, which Burton rates Happy Medium; both use an 18% short-glass/nylon baseplate, and the Escapade carries a Soft Disc card. The Lexa X also uses 18% short-glass/nylon, carries a Stiff Disc card and, like this model, shows no Burton tier. The Lexa X and the Escapade set lean with DialFLAD, as this model does, and list Re:Flex FullBED where this one lists SensoryBED with B3 gel. The women's Step On Re:Flex sets lean with a screwdriver.
The men's Step On X shares this model's carbon-filled nylon baseplate, carbon/nylon hi-back, Heel Grabber and DialFLAD, and Burton rates it Stiff & Aggressive; we do not carry that tier across to the women's model. It is not an option for women's Step On boots: Burton says combining men's and women's Step On products will result in malfunction and could compromise your safety.
Sizing the women's Burton Step On X runs off your women's Step On boot on Burton's chart. The bands do not overlap, and Burton warns that pairing incompatible size boots and bindings will result in malfunction and could compromise your safety.
Two questions about the women's Burton Step On X are not settled by Burton's paperwork, and our technician checks both before mounting. The first is which disc is in the box: the page leads with the Stiffest Disc card but does not say it ships, and Burton's Re:Flex blog and Re:Flex manual disagree. The second is board pattern: Burton's Re:Flex documents name 4x4, 2x4 and The Channel, and Burton boards built on the pre-2014 3D pattern need Burton's separate 3D Hinge Disc.
Technology
Step On connection
Burton's three-point connection: two toe hooks, one heel clip and a self-resetting release lever at the heel cup. Per Burton's manual, Step On bindings are not designed to release or to prevent injury.
Heel Grabber
An automatic lock that engages when you step in and releases when you step out. Burton credits it with less heel-cup movement and a quicker, more direct toe-edge response.
Carbon-filled nylon baseplate
A single-component baseplate, one material throughout, which Burton says keeps response and feel consistent and adds durability.
50:50 carbon fiber/nylon hi-back
A minimalist hi-back of half carbon fiber, half nylon composite, which Burton calls hyper lightweight and responsive.
Stiffest Disc
The disc card on this model's page. Burton describes it as glass-filled construction for maximum underfoot stiffness. Burton's disc range runs Soft, Medium, Stiff and Stiffest.
Re:Flex mounting
Burton's disc mounting system, which Burton says improves board flex and feel while reducing weight. Burton's part page names the 3D Hinge Disc for its old 3D-pattern boards.
DialFLAD
A rotating dial sets the forward lean of the hi-back; Burton calls it tool-free in its Step On EST manual.
Gas Pedal
An adjustable toe ramp with settings marked in US boot sizes. Burton's manual says to set it to your boot size before mounting, to cut toe drag and help the toe connection engage.

Best For

Limitations
- −Only women's Step On boots work in this binding, per Burton.
- −Burton's page shows no Personality tier for this model.
- −Burton publishes no weight for the women's Step On X.
- −Too firm a build for riders wanting a forgiving first Step On.
Not For
Anyone without women's Step On boots: per Burton, Step On bindings take only Step On boots, and combining men's and women's Step On products will result in malfunction and could compromise your safety. Riders who want a softer, more forgiving Step On, such as the Happy Medium Escapade Re:Flex or women's Step On Re:Flex. Buyers who want a published Burton flex tier before they commit; this page shows none. And riders who want Burton's Stiff Disc card on a short-glass/nylon baseplate, which is the Lexa X.

Common Questions
- Burton Women's Step On X vs Step On Lexa X: which should I get?
- The women's Burton Step On X and Step On Lexa X both mount on Re:Flex and set lean with a DialFLAD dial, and Burton shows no Personality tier for either. Burton's pages differ underfoot: the Step On X has a carbon-filled nylon baseplate, a Stiffest Disc card and SensoryBED with B3 gel, while the Lexa X uses an 18% short-glass/nylon baseplate, a Stiff Disc card and Re:Flex FullBED.
- Burton Women's Step On X vs men's Step On X: what is the difference?
- The women's Burton Step On X shares the men's carbon-filled nylon baseplate, carbon/nylon hi-back, Heel Grabber and DialFLAD. Burton lists SensoryBED with B3 gel and a Stiffest Disc card on the women's page, FullBED and a Stiff & Aggressive tier on the men's. The two are not interchangeable: Burton warns that combining men's and women's Step On products will result in malfunction and could compromise your safety.
- What size Burton Women's Step On X should I get?
- Size the women's Burton Step On X from your women's Step On boot. Burton's chart puts S at US women's 5-6, M at 6.5-8.5 and L at 9-11, with no overlap between sizes. When you buy, we size the binding to your boot.
- Will the Burton Women's Step On X fit my board?
- For the women's Burton Step On X's Re:Flex disc, Burton's Re:Flex documents cover 4x4, 2x4 and The Channel, and Burton boards made before 2014 with the 3D pattern take the separate 3D Hinge Disc. Burton's documents disagree on which disc is in the box. Our technician checks the disc on your board before mounting.
- Is the Burton Women's Step On X good for beginners?
- Among Burton's women's Step On Re:Flex models, the women's Burton Step On X is the one on a carbon-filled baseplate, and PTO sees it as a pick for strong riders on stiff boards. Burton gives it no level or flex rating. Newer riders get a more forgiving feel from Burton's Happy Medium models, the Escapade Re:Flex and the plain women's Step On Re:Flex.
- What does Burton not publish about the Burton Women's Step On X?
- Burton's page for the women's Burton Step On X shows no Personality slider, no weight and no rider level. The page's Stiffest Disc card, which Burton says gives the quickest response in its line, rates the disc only; Burton gives the binding itself no flex rating. The men's Step On X is rated Stiff & Aggressive, and PTO does not carry that tier across to the women's model. Burton's documents also disagree on which disc is in the box.
