Burton Kids' Grom Step On Grom Snowboard Bindings

The Burton Step On Grom is a no-strap, no-buckle binding built specifically for small kids — boot sizes 11C through 2K (roughly ages 4–8). Instead of fighting with straps in the cold, kids step onto the board and three release levers — two at the toe, one at the heel — snap the boot in place using the same spring-loaded Toe Hooks 2.0 and Smooth Glide heel clip found on the adult Step On system, just scaled down and tuned for mitten-wearing little hands. The 18% short-glass/nylon composite baseplate keeps the package light and forgiving underfoot, which is exactly right for kids still developing their edge sense — it doesn't fight them when they twist or flex. On snow, the medium flex means there's enough response to feel the board, but not so much rigidity that every mistake gets amplified. The goal is a smooth, natural ride that gets out of the way and lets kids focus on the actual snowboarding.

This binding is for committed young riders whose parents are done losing gloves at the chairlift base while their kid spins in circles trying to strap in.
