The Atomic AMT SQS W is a fixed-length aluminum all-mountain pole built specifically around a women's grip geometry. Atomic calls the shaft construction "4-Star Aluminum" — high-tensile alloy that holds up to daily resort use without the flex you sometimes feel in budget aluminum. The real difference here is the SQS: Safety Quick Release System. Instead of a conventional strap loop, the SQS is designed to release under tension if your pole catches — a tree, a chair lift, another skier — rather than letting that force load up your wrist or thumb. The grip is a two-component (2K) ergonomic design with a smaller diameter than the unisex AMT, shaped for a female hand, with textured ridges that give you something to hold when you're planting in firm spring cord or grabbing the pole mid-traverse. The 60mm piste basket is sized for groomed terrain and firm alpine snow; it will not float you in deep powder, but it will not dig and grab on-piste the way an oversized powder basket would.

This pole is a straightforward choice for a woman who skis groomed runs and mixed conditions at a resort and wants a safety strap without paying for carbon. Aluminum damps a little more vibration on hardpack than carbon, which some skiers actually prefer. That said, if you are logging high-mileage days and swing weight matters to you, the Atomic AMT Carbon SQS W is the direct step up — same grip, same SQS system, lighter shaft. Powder riders should also skip this one: the 60mm piste basket will sink in anything beyond a few centimeters of fresh. The AMT SQS W comes in three fixed lengths — 110, 115, and 120cm — so check your pole length before you order. There is no adjustability, and if you need a longer pole than 120cm you'll want to look at a different model.
