The Lander started as a thrift-store mitt and 686 kept that low-key, old-school shape while updating what actually matters. The shell runs infiDRY® 10K waterproofing — 686's own membrane, not GORE-TEX — with a DuraGrain™ synthetic palm and Soundtouch™ on the thumb and index finger so you can work your phone without peeling the mitt off. Back-of-hand insulation is 300g polyfill, palm is 120g, and an accordion stretch panel at the knuckles lets your hand move naturally when you grab an edge or a rail. Cuff closes with an elastic bungee, and a wrist leash keeps it attached when you pull it off in the lift line.
This is a solid, no-fuss park and everyday riding mitt at an honest price. The 10K waterproofing holds up through a normal day but won't keep pace in a genuinely wet Pacific Northwest storm — if you're out all day in heavy rain-on-snow conditions, step up to a 20K or GORE-TEX option. No removable liner, no hand-warmer pocket. If you need those features, look elsewhere.
