Description

The Rossignol Escaper Tour Telescopic Carbon is an adjustable-length touring pole with a carbon shaft — light to swing on a long skin track, and quick to shorten or lengthen as the terrain changes.

It adjusts between 110 and 135 cm, so one pole covers the climb (longer on flats, shorter on steep switchbacks) and the descent.

  • Carbon Shaft: 100% carbon upper, 60% carbon lower. Carbon damps vibration and keeps swing weight low over a long day of climbing.
  • 110–135 cm Adjustment: Set the pole to the pitch you are on rather than the pitch you started on.
  • Long Foam Grip: An extended foam grip lets you choke down the shaft on a traverse without changing the pole length.
  • Carbide Tip: Bites into ice and firm snow, and holds up better than steel over the long run.
  • 85 mm Basket: Wide enough to stay on top of soft snow.

This is a pole for ski touring and backcountry days — anyone earning their turns, where an adjustable length and a light swing weight actually matter over hours of climbing. The long foam grip is the tell: it is designed to be gripped low on a traverse.

For lift-served resort skiing, a fixed-length aluminium pole does the same job for less money. The adjustment and the carbon are there for the skin track.

What length range does the Escaper Tour Telescopic Carbon adjust to?
110 to 135 cm.

Is the shaft really carbon?
Yes — Rossignol specs the upper section at 100% carbon and the lower section at 60% carbon.

Why would I want an adjustable pole for touring?
On a skin track you want a longer pole on flats and a shorter one on steep pitches and traverses; on the descent you want your normal downhill length. An adjustable pole handles all three without carrying two sets.

Does it come as a pair?
Yes, poles are sold as a pair.
