The Faction Prodigy 1 is Faction's park-and-piste twin tip, sitting at 88mm underfoot — narrow enough to feel snappy on groomers and in the pipe, wide enough to handle variable conditions around the resort. The construction is wood-forward: a poplar and ash core (ash adds density exactly where you need it, under your feet and at the edges, for durability against rails and boxes) wrapped in carbon and fiberglass, no titanal. What you get from that is a lively, responsive feel — the flex is moderate, rated 6 out of 10, and the rocker-camber-rocker profile (deep 315mm tip rocker, shallower 250mm tail rocker) makes it easy to initiate turns and flip to switch without fighting the tails. The directional twin shape — meaningfully narrower tail than tip — keeps it honest at speed pointing downhill while still allowing real switch riding. Faction's carbon-rubber stomp pad runs the length of the binding zone and takes the edge off hard landings, so the ski doesn't chatter through your knees after a drop. XL 2.5mm steel edges are built to survive rail seasons.

This ski is for an intermediate to advanced rider who is genuinely spending time in the park, lapping features, or doing freestyle-oriented all-mountain skiing where quick, surfy turns and switch capability matter more than charging groomers at speed or floating through deep powder days. If you are primarily a groomer or off-piste skier with no real interest in park, the Prodigy 1 is not the right tool — its 88mm waist and park-tuned construction will feel limited in fresh snow and unexciting on hard-pack carving laps. Step up to the Prodigy 2 (98mm) for a more all-mountain balanced ride, or the Prodigy 3 (106mm) if powder days and freeride terrain are the priority. This is a flat ski — pair it with your own binding. Sizes run 158 to 184cm.
