The take

The one Santa Ana most women should buy. And most do.

92mm is the sweet spot of the Santa Ana line, just like 99mm is the sweet spot for the Enforcer. Wide enough to handle mixed conditions and light off-piste, narrow enough to carve groomers with confidence. At 1,750g in the 161, it's a manageable weight for all-day skiing.

The Pulse Core and titanal setup carry over from the 87, with the metal sheet slightly narrower at this width. You still get meaningful dampening and edge hold — this isn't a ski that chatters through crud. It handles it. The rubber underfoot absorbs the worst of it.

16m radius at 161 puts it in medium-turn territory. It doesn't demand short turns, but it can do them. It's equally comfortable making wide GS arcs on open groomers or picking through bumps and trees. Versatile without compromise.

This is the Santa Ana that works for the widest range of women. If you're split between the 87 and 92, get the 92 unless you never leave groomed runs. If you're split between the 92 and 97, get the 92 unless you spend serious time in soft snow. It's the safe bet — and not in a boring way.
