Description
The Nitro Team TLS 2024/25 is a men's all-mountain snowboard boot closed by a two-zone TLS speed lace. One retailer's spec sheet puts it at Response 8/10, a figure Nitro's 24/25 page leaves out (Nitro rates the 25/26 Team TLS Response 8, Comfort 9), and sizes run US men's 7 to 15 (Mondopoint 25.0 to 33.0); Nitro publishes no last width.
TLS gives the shell two independent lacing zones with Dyneema laces and Nitro's Bail Out release. Inside sits the Cloud 9 liner, which Nitro redesigned for 24/25 with a new 3D tongue and heel; it comes pre-molded with Thermacell and is heat moldable. The ILS harness ties the liner into the shell, and a Re/Lace Liner Locker resets liner tension while the outer laces stay tied. Underfoot are a Vibram outsole in Ecostep compound, a Therminator Shield that reflects body heat and an Ortholite High Cup Dual Density footbed; Air Dampening handles hard landings.
We see it as a daily, whole-resort boot for riders past the beginner stage. New riders get an easier start in Nitro's Sentinel or Venture, rated Response 5 and 7 in Nitro's 26/27 numbers. For stiffer, tunable response, look at the Team Pro MK TLS and its Power Tongue Stiffener. Step On bindings need Nitro's separate Step On Team, and Nitro's 1 to 10 flex scale does not convert to other brands.
With no published weight or boot sole length, we fit it on your foot. Bring your riding socks: we size by Mondopoint, check heel hold, heat-mold the liner, and match your binding size to the boot.

2024/25
Flex
Response 8 on Nitro's 1 to 10 scale, as one retailer's spec sheet lists it for this boot
Flex ratings are the brand’s own and do not compare across brands.
For this 24/25 Nitro Team TLS, start with the closure. TLS is quick, but our read is that pulled laces miss the small, on-the-fly tension changes a dial makes easy, and one independent reviewer found TLS less easy to adjust than BOA. For dials, Nitro added a BOA version of the Team for 24/25.
Nitro's own 24/25 preview says what the season's liner work was for: comfort and laceability at the tongue, better heel hold at the heel, outside reinforcements against packing out, and an all-new Ortholite footbed. The lacing on this boot is Nitro's standard TLS; the new TLS PowerCord went on the Capital, El Mejor, Incline, Select and Bianca that year.
On snow, two independent testers rate the Team TLS as a comfortable boot. One, covering the 2024 to 2027 versions, called the flex medium bordering on medium stiff, rated shock absorption and warmth highly, found traction excellent and the width fine for an E-width foot. The other, on the 2024 boot, found it comfortable from first wear and warm at 0 to 5°F. One retailer's spec sheet gives this boot Response 8; read it the way the multi-year tester felt it, medium bordering on medium stiff: firm support with plenty of padding.
The same two reviews flag catches. The multi-year tester felt pressure on the instep and at the Achilles that eased after a few days, warns of heel pressure for some feet, and says half sizes fit less true than whole sizes. Both say the TLS laces can tangle, one of them when pants do not cover the laces. User comments on the multi-year review's page, posted in 2020 and 2021 about earlier versions, report lace-loop failures on some pairs; Nitro says a plain lace can stand in.
In Nitro's men's line, compare it with the stiffer Team Pro MK TLS and the softer Sentinel and Venture. Nitro's 26/27 ratings put the Team Pro MK at Response 8 to 9, with a Power Tongue Stiffener and a shell Power Strap for adjustable response, the Venture at 7 and the Sentinel at 5.
The Nitro Team TLS that followed in 25/26 is style 848709, which Nitro rates Response 8 and Comfort 9, and its page also names three items: an Armored Spine heel reinforcement, an EVA midsole and a version with a wider fit. Nitro's 24/25 page does not list those three items, and Nitro publishes no change list between the two seasons.
Fit
Nitro's Team fit, which Nitro describes as comfortable and familiar
Nitro publishes no last width or volume figure for the Team TLS. One independent tester with an E-width foot never found it too narrow, but felt instep and Achilles pressure that eased within a few days, so we check the instep at fitting and heat-mold the Cloud 9 liner when it helps.
Snowboard boots are sized by foot length, not a shell-width figure.
Closure
TLS dual-zone speed lace
Liner
Cloud 9 — heat moldable, pre-molded Thermacell
Outsole
Vibram outsole in Ecostep compound
Technology
TLS Lacing
Two independent lacing zones, each tightened and locked by a compact, lightweight mechanism, with low-abrasion Dyneema laces and Nitro's Bail Out system for release. Nitro says a standard lace can be used in a pinch.
ILS (Internal Lacing System)
A lacing harness firmly connected to the boot shell that wraps the liner and secures it in the shell, using low-friction laces with a Dyneema core.
Cloud 9 Liner
Nitro's flagship liner, rebuilt for the 24/25 season around a 3D-shaped tongue and a 3D heel construction. It is pre-molded with Thermacell for an out-of-box fit, uses latex heel pads, and is heat moldable.
Re/Lace Liner Locker
Nitro's patented liner lace lock. Pulling up the liner's lace handle retightens the liner even while the shell is already laced.
Air Dampening
Nitro's shock-absorbing suspension, built to soak up hard landings and keep heels from bruising without giving up response or control.
Therminator Shield
A reflective thermal layer between sole and liner that reflects body heat back toward the foot.

Best For
Intermediate to advanced riders who want one supportive boot for the whole resort, at the Response 8 that one retailer's spec sheet lists for this boot. It suits riders who land hard or ride cold days and want cushioning and warmth, and riders who like setting lower and upper tension separately with two quick lace pulls.
Limitations
- −Lace pulls lack the fine dial adjustment of the Team BOA
- −Two independent testers say the TLS laces can tangle
- −One tester felt instep pressure that took days to ease
- −Nitro's 24/25 page prints no Response or Comfort rating
- −Nitro publishes no weight, last width or boot sole length
Not For
First-week beginners: Nitro's 26/27 ratings put the Sentinel at Response 5 and the Venture at 7, and either is an easier start. Riders who want dials, who belong in the Team BOA. Freestyle riders who want stiffer, adjustable response, which is the Team Pro MK TLS. Riders set on TLS PowerCord, which Nitro kept to five other 24/25 models. Step On riders, since the Step On Team is a separate boot. Riders with a high instep who will not give a boot a few days to settle. And anyone comparing flex numbers across brands, because Nitro's 1 to 10 scale is its own.

Common Questions
- Nitro Team TLS vs Team BOA: what is the difference?
- Nitro offers the Team in TLS and BOA closure versions: the Nitro Team TLS uses two lace pulls for two zones, while the BOA version, added for 24/25, uses dials. Nitro's 26/27 Team page gives its TLS, BOA and standard-lace Team one rating, Response 8 and Comfort 9. Pick TLS for quick pulls and BOA for small tension changes on the fly.
- Nitro Team TLS vs Team Pro MK TLS: which should I get?
- The Nitro Team Pro MK TLS is the stiffer, adjustable boot: Nitro's 26/27 rating is Response 8 to 9, and it adds a Power Tongue Stiffener and a Power Strap on the shell. The Team TLS sits at Response 8 on one retailer's spec sheet. Choose the Team for all-mountain comfort and the Pro MK for freestyle riders who want to tune response.
- What size Nitro Team TLS should I get?
- Size the Nitro Team TLS by foot length in Mondopoint; Nitro's 24/25 run is 25.0 to 33.0, or US men's 7 to 15. One independent tester found half sizes less true than whole sizes, and Nitro publishes no last width. Bring your riding socks and we measure, check the instep and heel, and heat-mold the liner.
- Is the Nitro Team TLS good for beginners?
- One retailer's spec sheet lists the Nitro Team TLS at Response 8 on Nitro's 1 to 10 scale, well above the Nitro Sentinel at Response 5 in Nitro's 26/27 ratings, so it is more boot than a first-week rider needs. Beginners get an easier start in the Sentinel or the Venture at Response 7. Intermediate and advanced riders get the support the Team is built around.
- Will the Nitro Team TLS work with my snowboard bindings?
- The Nitro Team TLS is built for traditional strap bindings; Nitro's Step On Team is a separate boot. Nitro publishes no boot sole length, so binding fit comes down to the binding's size chart and your boot size, and a technician confirms it when you buy. Bring your bindings in, or we match a binding size at fitting.
- Nitro Team TLS 2025 vs 2026: what changed?
- The Nitro Team TLS for 25/26 is a new style, 848709, with Black carried over alongside new Black-Tie Dye, Sage and Desert colors, and its Nitro page lists an Armored Spine, an EVA midsole and a wider-fitting version that the 24/25 page for style 848671 does not mention. Nitro publishes no change list. Both pages share TLS lacing, ILS, Re/Lace, the Cloud 9 liner, Air Dampening and a Vibram Ecostep outsole.
