The Detect XT 3D is LEKI's go-to cold-weather ski glove — a five-finger (not a mitt) built around PrimaLoft Gold insulation and a SOFT-TEX waterproof membrane. It runs warm, sheds snow, and sits in the gauntlet-over-cuff camp, with a double gauntlet that tucks over your jacket sleeve to keep spindrift out. The zipped heat pocket on the back of the hand lets you slip in a hand warmer on the days when the chairlift wind is genuinely brutal. Palm is premium goat leather with a silicone grip trim — you keep pole feel and the leather holds up better than synthetic through a full season. It's built around LEKI's Trigger System, so it clicks directly into any Trigger-compatible LEKI pole handle for a clean, secure connection without straps getting in the way. The fit is a loose Thermo Fit cut: more room for liner bulk and good air circulation, not a snug carving-glove feel.
This is a glove for skiers who run cold and want genuine all-day warmth, not a trim resort glove or a touring piece. If you ski in moderate conditions and find yourself overheating mid-run, this is more glove than you need. It's also not a touchscreen glove, and you'll need LEKI Trigger-compatible poles to get the full pole-attachment benefit — it works fine with non-Trigger poles, you just won't use the click-in system.
