Hestra Women's Army Leather Patrol Mitt

Army Leather is Hestra's treated goat leather. Hestra traces it to gloves made for military purposes and says it "withstands tough, outdoor conditions." The Dobby fabric is windproof and breathable.

The Bemberg/polyester mitt lining comes out, and Hestra gives the replacement liner its own style number, 34411. The neoprene cuff closes with Velcro. Elastic at the wrist keeps the fit snug, and a puller at the cuff is there to grab as you pull the mitt on. Handcuffs (wrist leashes) and a carabiner are included, along with reinforcement details.

Warmth comes from G-Loft insulation plus the removable mitt lining. In a mitt, your four fingers share one space and warm each other. That's why cold-handed skiers often choose mitts. The trade-off is dexterity, since the fingers can't move separately.

The fabric blocks wind and breathes. For the leather, Hestra says its structural properties provide "effective protection against moisture."

Offered in women's sizes 6, 7, 8 and 9, with Ivory, Black and Light Grey each available in all four. Hestra uses numeric sizes, and this mitt has a women's fit.

Hestra says its Alpine Pro gloves, the collection this mitt belongs to, "stand up to heavy wear and tear." Choose it if you want your fingers together in an Army Leather mitt with a neoprene cuff.
