Hestra Women's Army Leather Patrol

Army Leather is goat leather that Hestra treats specially. In Hestra's words, it was "originally used to make gloves for military purposes," and it "withstands tough, outdoor conditions." The fabric used with it is windproof and breathable.

The Bemberg/polyester lining is removable, and Hestra lists its replacement as style 34410. The cuff is neoprene with a Velcro closure, so you decide how snug it sits. Elastic at the wrist holds the glove close, and a puller at the cuff helps you get it on. Handcuffs (wrist leashes) let the glove hang from your wrist while your hand is out. Hestra also lists a carabiner and reinforcement details.

The warmth comes from G-Loft insulation and the lining. Each finger has its own space. A mitt would let the fingers warm each other; this glove gives that up for separate fingers.

The fabric is windproof and breathable. Hestra says the leather's structural properties provide "effective protection against moisture."

This women's glove is offered in sizes 6, 7, 8 and 9, and Ivory, Black and Light Grey each come in all four. Hestra sizes are numbers, not S/M/L.

Hestra lists it in Alpine Pro, the collection it says is used by freeriders, mountain guides, ski instructors and others who place high demands on their equipment. It suits a woman who wants Army Leather and five fingers, with a neoprene cuff rather than a gauntlet.
