Description
The Hestra Omni is a five-finger leather ski glove with G-Loft insulation and a rib-knit cuff, for skiers who want separate fingers in an insulated leather glove. The outer is impregnated cowhide and the lining is brushed polyester.
Hestra lists impregnated cowhide as the Omni's outer material. It calls cowhide "a durable leather with good impregnation properties" and uses it across many of its ski gloves.
The lining is brushed polyester, and Hestra does not list it as removable. The cuff is rib-knitted, so it stretches as your hand goes in and then closes around the wrist. Elastic at the wrist adds to that close fit. A puller at the cuff gives you a tab to pull the glove on, and handcuffs, which are wrist leashes, keep the glove on your wrist when you take your hand out.
Warmth comes from G-Loft insulation, with the brushed polyester lining against your hand. The five fingers are separate, so each one is on its own for warmth, which a mitt avoids.
For the leather, Hestra says cowhide "resists moisture and abrasion well."
The Omni is unisex and offered in sizes 6 to 11. Blk/Blk, Royal Blue/Royal Blue and Tan/Tan each cover the full run.
Hestra includes the Omni in Alpine Pro, a collection it aims at people who ski a lot in varied terrain and weather, and says those gloves "stand up to heavy wear and tear." It fits a skier who wants an insulated leather glove with a rib-knit cuff.
If your fingers run cold, the Hestra Omni Mitt uses the same materials and features in a mitt: cowhide outer, G-Loft insulation, brushed polyester lining, rib-knit cuff, elastic at the wrist, a puller at the cuff and handcuffs. In a mitt, the fingers share warmth.
