Hestra Heli Ski Female Mitt

Hestra describes Army Leather as "a specially treated goat leather that withstands tough, outdoor conditions," first used for military gloves. On this mitt it forms the palm. The backhand is HESTRA Triton, made from recycled polyamide.

The Bemberg/polyester mitten lining pulls out, and it has its own replacement-liner style number (34091). Elastic at the wrist and a wrist strap with a Velcro closure tighten the fit, and a snow lock adds an inner cuff that closes around the wrist. Handcuffs (wrist leashes) let the mitt hang from your wrist when you pull a hand out. A carabiner is on the feature list as well.

Four fingers in one compartment share their heat, where separate finger sleeves would keep them apart. G-Loft insulation and the lining build on that. The trade is finger movement: in a mitt, the four fingers work together rather than one by one.

Hestra lists the Triton backhand as windproof and breathable. Of the Army Leather palm, Hestra says its structural properties provide "effective protection against moisture."

This is a women's fit, offered in Hestra sizes 5 through 9. Hestra glove sizes are numeric. All eight colorways come in sizes 6 through 9, and size 5 is offered in every colorway except Syringa/Offwhite.

Women whose fingers feel the cold first and who want an Army goat leather palm. Hestra puts this mitt in its Alpine Pro collection, aimed at those who "ski a lot in varied terrain and weather."

Want separate fingers instead? The five-finger Heli Ski Female gives each finger its own sleeve. The Heli Ski Female 3-finger is the halfway point: its index finger has a compartment of its own while the other three share one.
