Hestra Fall Line Mitt

The outer is impregnated cowhide, except on the Almond White colorway, which Hestra makes from impregnated chrome-free goat leather. Hestra describes cowhide as "a durable leather with good impregnation properties" that is "widely used for many of our ski gloves." The palm has outseams, meaning its seams are sewn on the outside.

Foam and fiberfill insulate the shell. The removable 5-finger Bemberg/polyester lining carries G-Loft insulation and has a replacement-liner style number (34420). The cuff is neoprene and closes with Velcro. Handcuffs are wrist leashes, so the mitt stays with you when it's off your hand. A carabiner is listed too.

Hestra lists foam and fiberfill insulation in the shell and G-Loft insulation in the lining. The mitt shell lets four fingers share one compartment and its heat, while the 5-finger lining keeps each finger wrapped on its own inside it. Next to a five-finger glove, you give up separate fingers on the outside: the shell holds the four fingers in one compartment, though the lining inside is five-finger.

Hestra says cowhide "resists moisture and abrasion well."

All four colorways, Almond White, Black, Cork and Loden, are offered in sizes 6 through 11.

Choose it if you want a leather mitt with insulation in both the shell and the lining. Hestra counts it in Alpine Pro and says that collection is used by people who "place high demands on their equipment."
