A no-frills, entry-level goggle built around cylindrical double-lens polycarbonate optics and Rossignol's Fog Control Tech — an anti-fog coating backed by engineered venting that moves moisture out before it clouds your view. The S2 smoke lens is tuned for variable and partly cloudy conditions, which covers most days you'll actually ski. Double-density foam with a fleece lining seals reasonably well against wind and cold, and the OTG cut gives enough room to fit most prescription glasses underneath. The frame, strap, and strap adjusters are made from 100% recycled materials — a genuine spec, not just a tag line.
This is a starter goggle at a starter price. It does the basics reliably: it vents, it seals, and the cylindrical lens keeps the goggle low-profile and gives you a usable field of view. The tradeoff is real — cylindrical lenses give up a little edge clarity and vertical peripheral range compared with a spherical or toric shape, but at this price that's a fair deal. If you want better low-light contrast, look for a contrast-enhancing or photochromic lens (Rossignol's own Otava, for example, adds HI TRAST and a photochromic S1–S3 lens for that); if you also want a wider, lower-distortion view, that's where a spherical or toric shape helps. For mixed-weather Pacific Northwest days where you just need honest, reliable coverage, this one earns its price.
