The take
“Built to take a beating — Aramid sidewalls and cork edge dampening make this the rail board that keeps coming back.”
The Ultrafear is CAPiTA's dedicated park board — the one team riders reach for when the day is all rails, boxes, and jump lines. The 2026 model brings back its original shape for a retro take on this award-winning deck.
What sets the Ultrafear apart from other park boards is durability. The Fortress Aramid Bound sidewalls absorb impacts from metal features that would crack standard sidewalls. The 1.5mm full cork edge dampening system absorbs chatter and keeps the board predictable on landings. This is a board designed to survive seasons of park abuse.
The P2 Superlight core (Paulownia + Poplar) with beech stringers through the inserts keeps weight down while the carbon boosters interwoven into the bottom fiberglass layer add pop without stiffening the overall flex. The true twin rides identically switch — essential for park riders.
On groomers, the Ultrafear is competent but not its strength. The flat sections at the contact points and the park-oriented flex mean edge hold on ice is limited. This board wants to be in the park, and it knows it.
At around $550, the construction quality punches above its price — sintruded base, Aramid sidewalls, and carbon reinforcement at this price point is competitive.
