CAPiTA's SB Powder Glider is a deep-snow board in CAPiTA's 26/27 Spring Break series, a directional surf shape built to float first and turn tight in trees. It runs a flat-to-rocker Surf Rocker profile, a Directional 6 flex on CAPiTA's own scale, and three lengths of 154, 158 and 162 cm with waists of 26.2 to 27.6 cm for riders of about 120 to 220 lb.
The shape does the floating. The base is flat between the inserts and low rocker arcs rise toward the nose and tail, so no camber presses the contact points down and the wide nose rises easily in soft snow. The stance is set back 0.8 in and the nose is 35.7 to 37.6 mm wider than the tail, so the tail settles and the nose stays up without you leaning back. The CAPiTA SB Powder Glider is a specialist, and CAPiTA labels it that way. Its rider type is "Powder Seeker", while the Powder Racers, Powder Twin and Slush Slashers 2.0 in the same Spring Break series are listed Powder / Resort. CAPiTA's terrain chart puts powder at the top ring, jumps and jibbing at the bottom, and skill level at 4 of 5.
Next to its Spring Break siblings, the Powder Glider pushes the powder numbers further.
