The Burton Men's Step On Re:Flex is a medium-flex all-mountain binding built around Burton's Step On connection system — three locking points, two at the toe and one at the heel, that click in without straps or buckles. You step in, the binding locks, and you're riding. Exit is handled by a quick-release lever on the highback. The Re:Flex baseplate (short-glass/nylon composite) is designed to let the board bend naturally underfoot rather than killing your board's flex pattern, and the FullBED cushioning takes the edge off long days without going so soft that you lose feedback. The highback includes Burton's FLAD forward-lean adjustment, so you can dial in lean in small increments — useful if you ride switch or prefer a more upright stance versus a forward-carving position. Rated around a 6 out of 10 for flex, this binding has enough response for groomed runs and light off-piste without punishing intermediate riders. The Re:Flex disc mounts to virtually any board — 4x4, 2x4, 3D, and Burton Channel — which means it works on almost anything in your quiver.
This binding is built for intermediate to advanced riders who want the convenience of Step On and do most of their riding on groomers and blue-to-black terrain. If that describes you and you already own Step On-compatible boots, or plan to buy them at the same time, it's a straightforward setup. Here's the hard stop: the Step On system needs Step On-compatible boots — these bindings will not work with standard strap boots. They do work with any Step On boot built on the same licensed system, so Burton, Nitro, and DC Step On boots are all fine; what you can't do is run a regular laced or BOA strap boot with them. If you don't already own Step On boots and aren't buying them alongside these bindings, walk away. Also, if you're pushing aggressive all-mountain terrain or charging hard on steeps, look at the Burton Step On X Re:Flex instead — that's the stiffer, higher-performance version of this same platform. And if you're a beginner still figuring out your stance and just want something easy to strap in, a traditional strap binding gives you more adjustment range and costs less to get started.
