Description

Atomic's Revent GT AMID Visor HD is an adult all-mountain ski helmet that swaps the goggle for a sealed visor built into the shell. It is certified to ASTM F2040 and CE EN 1077:2007 Class B, adds Atomic's AMID 360° rotational-impact system, and fits heads from 51 to 65 cm across four sizes: S 51–55, M 55–59, L 59–63 and XL 63–65 cm.

Atomic builds the Performance Visor with the contact pressure and sealed construction of a goggle. The Live Fit Frame's tri-layer foam molds to your face and a dual-layer face foam adds comfort. Atomic says the visor forms a weather-proof seal, and one finger lifts it or drops it back down. The ID Visor Double Lens follows the curve of the helmet and uses Atomic's HD Lens Technology, aimed at color, clarity and contrast, under a hydrophobic coating that sheds moisture, grease and dirt. ISO 18527-1:2022 also appears on the datasheet; its title makes it a ski-goggle standard, which is why we tie it to the visor.

Underneath, the Hybrid Construction pairs an ABS hard shell on top with an in-mold lower part that Atomic says saves weight; Atomic lists 600 g for size S. AMID 360° is Atomic's own system rather than Mips, and this helmet's page does not explain how it works. The Active Aircon vents adjust by hand, the 360° Fit System wraps the head and adapts to its shape, the cap liner, lined in Merino 3M X-Static, comes out for washing, and the magnetic Fidlock buckle works one-handed in gloves.

Skip it if you want the lens to change with the light, since the Visor HD Photo version carries Atomic's photochromic lens. Glasses wearers should try it on first: Atomic says nothing about frames under this visor. In this listing, the XL comes in Black only; White Heather and Dust stop at 59–63 cm.

At PTO we measure your head and set the fit with the visor down, so the size and the seal are right before you leave the shop.

Revent family · 26/27

Atomic logo

Technology

AMID 360°

Atomic’s rotational-impact system, which Atomic describes as 360° rotational-impact protection with next-gen energy absorption. It sits on top of the certifications and is not one itself.

Hybrid Construction

An ABS hard shell on top joined to an in-mold lower part, which Atomic says saves weight.

Performance Visor

An integrated visor that Atomic says presses on and seals to the face the way a goggle does. Atomic says it raises and lowers with the flick of a finger.

ID Visor Double Lens

A double lens whose edge follows the curve of the helmet, for field of vision and protection.

HD Lens Technology

Atomic’s lens technology for color, clarity and contrast, with a hydrophobic coating against moisture, grease and dirt.

Live Fit Frame

Adaptive tri-layer face foam on the visor frame (memory foam, face foam and quick-drying fabric) that Atomic says molds to the face.

360° Fit System

Atomic’s Live Fit system, which wraps around the head and adapts to its shape.

Active Aircon Venting

Air channels and vents you adjust by hand to tune airflow to the day.

Features

  • ·Integrated visor in place of a separate goggle
  • ·Dual Layer Face Foam plus Live Fit Frame tri-layer foam
  • ·Removable, washable full cap liner with Merino 3M X-Static lining
  • ·Integrated 3D-molded ear pads, audio compatible
  • ·Magnetic Fidlock buckle, one-handed with gloves on
  • ·Helmet bag and microfiber lens sleeve included

Buy the Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD if you would rather put on one piece of kit than a helmet and a goggle. It ships with one HD lens and weighs more than its visorless sibling, the Revent GT AMID, so the decision comes down to whether you can live with both.

Atomic publishes no category, VLT or tint name for the Black, White Heather or Dust versions in this listing, and its page lists no spare lens or second tint for the Revent GT AMID Visor HD. Buy it for the lens it comes with. If the light on your hill changes hour to hour, the Revent GT AMID Visor HD Photo is the better buy: same shell, AMID 360° and 600 g in size S, with Atomic’s photochromic HD PHOTO lens.

Atomic lists the Revent GT AMID Visor HD at 600 g in size S and the visorless Revent GT AMID at 450 g in the same size, so the visor model carries 150 g more. If you count grams, or want a low-light goggle for storm days and a darker one for sun, the visorless helmet worn with goggles you pick suits you better; bring your goggle so we can check how it sits with the shell.

For protection, read the Revent GT AMID Visor HD by its helmet certifications: ASTM F2040 and EN 1077:2007 Class B. ISO 18527-1:2022, also listed, is a ski-goggle standard by its title, and we take it as the visor’s rating, since Atomic does not say which standard covers which part. AMID 360° is Atomic’s rotational-impact system on top; this helmet’s Atomic page gives no test data or mechanism for it, so treat it as an extra layer, not a rating.

Sizing the Revent GT AMID Visor HD takes care at the edges, because S, M, L and XL share their end points at 55, 59 and 63 cm and Atomic gives no tie-break. We fit a boundary head to the size the 360° Fit System closes snugly with the visor down and sitting evenly on the face. XL (63–65 cm) is Black only here. If you ski in prescription glasses, bring them: Atomic is silent on frames under this visor, so the seal gets checked with yours on.

Strengths

  • +Built-in visor seals to the face like a goggle
  • +One finger raises or lowers the visor
  • +Certified to ASTM F2040 and EN 1077:2007 Class B
  • +AMID 360° rotational-impact system added on top of certifications

Best For

Adult resort skiers who want one item instead of a helmet plus goggle, are content with the one HD lens it ships with, and measure between 51 and 65 cm.

Limitations

  • −One HD lens; Atomic publishes no category or VLT
  • −600 g in size S, against 450 g visorless
  • −No word from Atomic on glasses under the visor
  • −XL 63–65 cm comes in Black only in this listing

Not For

Skiers who want the lens to follow changing light (get the Visor HD Photo), anyone who wants a choice of lens tints (Atomic’s page lists one HD lens and no spare), gram-counters (the visorless Revent GT AMID is 450 g in size S), glasses wearers who have not tried it with their frames, heads under 51 cm or over 65 cm, and 63–65 cm heads set on White Heather or Dust.

Common Questions

Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD vs Visor HD Photo: what is the difference?
The Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD uses Atomic’s HD lens, while the Visor HD Photo uses the photochromic HD PHOTO lens that Atomic says responds to changing light. Atomic’s datasheets give both AMID 360°, Hybrid Construction, Active Aircon Venting and 600 g in size S. Choose the Photo if your light changes a lot through the day.
Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD vs Revent GT AMID: which should I buy?
The Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD has a built-in goggle-style visor; the Revent GT AMID has none and is worn with a separate goggle. Atomic lists 600 g against 450 g, both in size S. Take the visor to leave goggles at home, or the visorless helmet to save weight and pick your own lenses.
What size Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD should I get?
The Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD comes in S (51–55 cm), M (55–59 cm), L (59–63 cm) and XL (63–65 cm) head circumference, with XL in Black only in this listing. Measure around the middle of the forehead, above the ears and over the back of the head. On a shared end point, choose the size that closes snugly with the visor sitting evenly.
Can you wear glasses under the Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD?
Atomic does not say whether glasses fit under the Revent GT AMID Visor HD visor. If you ski in prescription frames, try the helmet on with your own glasses and the visor down before buying, and check that the visor still seals evenly on your face.
What certifications does the Atomic Revent GT AMID Visor HD have?
Atomic certifies the Revent GT AMID Visor HD to two helmet standards, EN 1077:2007 Class B and ASTM F2040. Atomic also lists ISO 18527-1:2022, which by its title is a ski-goggle standard and so most likely relates to the visor. AMID 360°, Atomic’s own rotational-impact system, is an added feature rather than a certification.
