Description
The Atomic Hawx Magna 85 W is a women's all-mountain ski boot built on a 102mm high-volume last — the roomiest shape in Atomic's Hawx family, here in its soft, comfort-first trim. Flex 85, a women's low cuff, a moldable liner and GripWalk pads, for $550 — aimed at a wide, high-volume foot and an easygoing intermediate pace rather than hard driving.
The chassis is Prolite, with a PU lower shell and a lighter PP cuff. One point matters more than any other here: the shell will not heat-mold at all — only its Select Silver liner shapes to the foot. The Memory Fit moldable shell and ankle-lock Mimic liner that store copy likes to attach to 'the Magna' sit on the stiffer 95 W instead. For customizing, you have that liner, a removable rear AFS spoiler for extra calf room, dual-sided cuff alignment, and an Energy Link cuff-to-shell connection. Closure is four aluminum buckles, and the forward lean is set at 15 degrees and cannot be tuned.
Foot shape decides this boot, not flex. A slim foot will swim in the shell and move at the heel once its liner is molded, and that skier is better served by the medium-volume Hawx Prime 85 W.
