Description

Atomic’s Four Pro HD Photo in All Black is a large-fit cylindrical ski goggle with a photochromic green-gold HD lens and a sealed, swappable lens mount. Atomic lists the frame as a Large fit for broader faces at 145 g; a retailer rates the photochromic range category 1 to 3, and Atomic publishes no VLT figure.

This is Atomic article AN5106676, which Atomic now sells as the Four Pro L HD Photo. The lens darkens and lightens with the light by itself. Atomic gives no transition speed. Atomic says micro-crystals in the HD lens split light into six spectral colors and lift blue and red for contrast and depth.

The Sealed Lens System is built to shut out wind and water, and Atomic says it makes lens switches easy, though it does not describe the mechanism. Around it sit an anti-fog inner lens, vent foam, a hydrophobic coating, the Live Fit frame and a silicone-lined strap. Atomic includes a microfiber bag and a lens sleeve and lists no hard case. Its data for this All Black article lists no extra lens.

Slim faces belong in Atomic’s Four Pro M HD Photo, its Medium version. If you pick lenses by VLT, Atomic gives none; for magnetic swaps and a hard case, look at the Four Q L HD. The OTG Lite glasses grooves come with no size limit from Atomic, so bulky prescription frames need a try-on. Bring your helmet and your glasses to PTO: we check the seal on your face, the fit against your helmet brim and the glasses clearance before you buy.

Atomic logo

Technology

HD PHOTO Lens Technology

A photochromic HD lens that Atomic says responds to changing light. Micro-crystals divide incoming light by color and boost blue and red for contrast. Atomic gives no VLT or transition speed.

Cylindrical Double Lens

A double lens that curves horizontally and stays flat vertically, the lens shape Atomic lists for this model.

Sealed Lens System

Atomic says the sealed lens mount shuts out wind and water and makes lens switches quick and easy. Atomic does not describe the swap mechanism.

Anti-fog Inner Lens (AC) + Vent Foam

An anti-fog treated inner lens, with vent foam that Atomic says keeps moisture out while letting air circulate. Atomic gives no anti-fog figure for this model.

Live Fit Frame + Adaptive 3D Molded Face Foam

Atomic says the frame molds to the contours of your face, lined with the molded face foam named on its current page.

OTG Lite

Extra grooves in the frame for prescription eyewear. Atomic sets no maximum size for the glasses frame.

  • ·No extra lens listed by Atomic for this article
  • ·Cylindrical double lens with HD Lens Technology
  • ·Sealed Lens System with a swappable lens
  • ·Anti-fog inner lens, vent foam and hydrophobic coating
  • ·OTG Lite grooves for prescription eyewear
  • ·Silicone-coated strap

The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo earns its place by taking the lens swap out of the day. Its HD PHOTO lens is photochromic: Atomic says it responds to changing light, and a retailer rates its range category 1 to 3, from low light to bright sun. For a rider who would otherwise pocket a second lens and stop to change it when cloud rolls in, that is the whole case. For a rider who already owns a sun lens and a flat-light lens and does not mind swapping, the Four Pro L HD has the same Large frame at the same 145 g, and the photochromic lens adds little.

The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo All Black is a daylight goggle. When Atomic launched the Four Pro HD Photo in January 2023, the box carried a clear extra lens for night skiing, and Atomic’s data lists a VLT 84 clear lens with its 2023-season articles. This All Black, article AN5106676, sits in Atomic’s 2025 season with an empty extra-lens field. Category 1 at the light end is still a tinted low-light lens, so lit night laps call for a clear lens in a second goggle.

On fit, the Atomic Four Pro HD Photo uses Atomic’s Large frame, for broader faces and a roomier feel, with OTG Lite grooves for glasses. Atomic publishes no glasses size limit, so slim frames are the likely match and bulky ones need a try-on. Slimmer faces go to the Four Pro M HD Photo, the Medium version at 135 g.

Against the Four Q L HD, the Atomic Four Pro HD Photo gives up magnetic lens changes plus the spare lens and hard case that come with that goggle, and comes in lighter: 145 g against 190 g. Atomic says the Sealed Lens System makes lens switches quick and easy but does not describe the mechanism. With one lens meant to stay in, that matters less here than on a two-lens goggle.

Strengths

  • +Photochromic HD lens adjusts its tint to changing light, Atomic says
  • +Category 1 to 3 photochromic range, per a retailer listing
  • +Large fit built for broader faces and a roomier feel
  • +At 145 g, lighter than Atomic’s 190 g Four Q L HD

Best For

A rider with a broader face whose days swing between sun and flat light, and who would rather let one lens follow the light than carry a second one.

Limitations

  • −No clear spare lens listed for this All Black article
  • −Atomic publishes no VLT or transition speed for the lens
  • −Built for broader faces; slim faces should try the Medium
  • −No hard case listed; Atomic includes a microfiber bag

Not For

Slimmer faces, which Atomic sends to its Medium Four Pro M HD Photo, and riders who ski lit night sessions, because Atomic lists no clear spare lens for this article. It is also the wrong goggle for anyone who picks lenses by VLT number, wants magnetic swaps with a hard case, or wears bulky prescription frames, since OTG Lite is grooves in the frame and Atomic sets no glasses size limit.

Common Questions

Atomic Four Pro HD Photo vs Four Pro L HD: which should I get?
The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo and the Four Pro L HD share Atomic’s Large frame and a 145 g weight; the lens is the difference. The Photo’s HD lens is photochromic and adjusts its tint to the light, while the Four Pro L HD uses a regular, non-photochromic HD lens. If you already carry a sun lens and a flat-light lens and do not mind swapping, the Four Pro L HD covers you.
Does the Atomic Four Pro HD Photo come with a clear lens?
The All Black Atomic Four Pro HD Photo, article AN5106676, has no extra lens in Atomic’s data, and Atomic’s current page lists none. The clear extra lens Atomic announced at the 2023 launch came with the 2023-season articles. For lit night skiing, plan on another goggle with a clear lens.
What is the VLT of the Atomic Four Pro HD Photo lens?
Atomic publishes no VLT figure for the Four Pro HD Photo’s green-gold photochromic lens, and gives no transition speed. A retailer lists the lens at category 1 to 3, low light through bright sun. Category 1 is still a tinted lens, not a clear night lens.
Atomic Four Pro HD Photo vs Four Q L HD: which should I get?
The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo and the Four Q L HD are both Large-fit cylindrical HD goggles. The Four Q L HD swaps lenses magnetically, comes with a second lens and a hard case, and Atomic lists it at 190 g. The Four Pro HD Photo weighs 145 g and relies on one photochromic lens instead of a swap.
What size Atomic Four Pro HD Photo should I get?
The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo comes in one size, Atomic’s Large fit, for broader faces and riders who like a roomier feel. Slimmer faces should try the Medium-fit Four Pro M HD Photo, and a fitter at PTO checks the seal with your helmet on.
Can I wear glasses under the Atomic Four Pro HD Photo?
The Atomic Four Pro HD Photo has Atomic’s OTG Lite grooves in the frame to make room for prescription eyewear. Atomic sets no maximum glasses size, so slim frames are the likely fit and bulky ones may not clear. Bring your glasses to PTO and a fitter checks the clearance before you buy.
