Description
The Atomic Bent 100 is a 100 mm directional all-mountain freeride ski built to do a little of everything with a light, playful feel. It sits in the middle of Atomic's Bent line, and it leans on finesse and low swing weight rather than metal-ski muscle - a one-ski quiver for skiers who like to butter, jib and slash as much as carve.
The build is what makes it lively. A light woodcore keeps swing weight down, so the ski flicks from edge to edge and spins without much effort; HRZN 3D Bent tips and tails, plus a Powder Rocker profile of 20% tip rocker, 65% camber and 15% tail rocker, keep it loose and floaty for a ski this narrow. That band of camber underfoot is what lets it hold an edge and carve a groomer better than the wider Bent 110 and Chetler 120. A Resist Edge Park reinforced edge, shared in the line only with the Bent Decode, takes the rail and rock hits that chip a standard edge.
This one suits intermediate-to-expert skiers who want a single ski for groomers, trees, bumps, side hits and the odd powder day, and who drive with finesse. The Bent 100 is the middle of Atomic's Bent freeride range and one of its best-selling skis: a light, 100 mm ski meant to link the whole hill on finesse instead of force. Its Powder Rocker profile sets 65% camber underfoot between a rockered tip and a smaller tail rocker, so it keeps more edge on hardpack than the wider Bents while holding onto the loose, surfy Bent character.
Testers are consistent about what stands out: how light and lively it skis. The woodcore - independent reviews describe poplar with an ash inlay - drops the swing weight, so the ski spins, presses and switches edges with little effort, and it earns very high marks for playfulness and quickness. The HRZN 3D Bent shaping at the tip and tail, with the rockered shovel, gives it real float for its width, and reviewers rate it well above a typical mid-fat ski in soft snow and trees.
The trade-offs are just as consistent, and they all follow from that light build. On a groomer the Bent 100 is capable but not a hard-snow specialist - independent testers say plainly not to expect race-like grip, and it will not feel ultra-planted on ice.
