Description

The Anon M5S is Anon's scaled M5: a flat-toric Perceive lens on Magna-Tech magnets and a semi-perimeter frame, sized for small and medium faces. Anon's size guide lists the frame at 94 mm tall and 164 mm wide, with 160° of horizontal and 87.6° of vertical field of view.

Anon's flat-toric shape sits between its cylindrical and toric lenses. Magna-Tech's rare-earth N52 magnets hold the lens and, according to Anon, let you change it without taking your gloves off. Perceive tints add contrast when the light goes flat, the outer lens is coated against water and smudges, and the inner lens gets Anon's Integral Clarity anti-fog treatment. Rigid points on the frame back a soft, flexible inner frame lined with ramped, moisture-wicking foam, a vent channel runs the full perimeter, and Anon rates the frame over-the-glasses compatible.

The box includes a bonus Perceive lens, an MFI face mask that attaches to the goggle with magnets, a Magna-Tech storage case and a lens protector. Spare tints vary by colorway; a Variable Blue lens (21%, S2), for example, is paired with a Cloudy Pink spare (53%, S1).

Larger faces sit outside its range. Anon's helmet chart matches the M5S to its Small, Medium and Large helmets. Choose Regular or Low Bridge; the Low Bridge version adds foam in the nose pocket. Bring your helmet and we'll check the fit and the forehead gap with you.

Anon logo

Technology

Flat Toric Lens

Anon's in-between lens shape: its cylindrical lenses curve horizontally only, its toric lenses curve both ways, and the flat toric combines the two. Anon pitches it on clarity, peripheral vision and a clean look.

Magna-Tech®

Anon's magnetic lens system, here with rare-earth N52 magnets. Anon says the magnets self-align, seal the lens to the frame and make a glove-on swap possible.

Perceive Lens

Anon's contrast lenses. Anon says their color absorbers filter light in two spectrums to counter flat light, and a hydrophobic, oleophobic coating keeps the outside easier to clean.

Integral Clarity Technology

Anon's anti-fog treatment over a nano-etched inner lens on Perceive lenses. Anon's advice is never to wipe the inner surface; let a fogged lens air-dry.

MFI® (Magnetic Face Mask Integration)

Magnetic face-mask attachment that Anon says seals the mask to the goggle without blocking ventilation. The M5S uses the XL carrier, which comes with every Anon MFI mask.

Among Anon's scaled goggles, start with the Anon M5S if you ride an Anon Small helmet: it is the only one the helmet chart ticks for Small, and it covers Medium and Large too. The M4S is ticked for Medium and Large only, and the M6S and Nesa S aren't on the chart.

What the M5S gives up is view. Anon lists 160° horizontal and 87.6° vertical on its 94 × 164 mm frame, where the full-size M5 lists 176.5° and 95.2° on 96 × 171 mm. That is the cost of a frame that fits a smaller face, and the M5S keeps the rest of the M5 kit: Magna-Tech, the flat-toric lens, a spare lens and an MFI mask in the box.

Next to the other scaled goggles, the M5S's case rests on the chart and the magnets more than on view. It lists more view both ways than the M6S (92 × 162 mm, 153° / 85.6°) from a frame barely bigger. The Nesa S lists more (178.5° / 89.2°) from a slightly smaller 92 × 163 mm frame, but its lens sits on notches and tabs and it isn't on the chart; the M4S (98 × 177 mm, 179° / 92°) lists more again, in a frame Anon files a class up, as MED/LRG.

On the M5S, the spare lens depends on the colorway. Sunny Onyx colorways ship a 34% S2 spare rather than an S1 cloudy-day lens, while the Variable Blue and Sunny Red colorways include an S1 spare. Anon doesn't publish a weight.

Strengths

  • +Ticked for Anon Small, Medium and Large helmets
  • +160° / 87.6° view, above the M6S's 153° / 85.6°
  • +Same Magna-Tech and flat-toric lens as the full-size M5
  • +Face mask, spare lens and storage case come in the box
  • +Anon makes it in Regular and Low Bridge fits

Best For

Small and medium faces, and riders in Anon Small, Medium or Large helmets, who want flat-toric optics and magnetic lens swaps in a frame that fits.

Limitations

  • −Less view than the M5: 160° / 87.6° against 176.5° / 95.2°
  • −Sunny Onyx colorways include no S1 cloudy-day spare
  • −Anon doesn't publish a weight

Not For

Medium-to-large faces that fit the full-size M5 and want its 176.5° of horizontal view; medium faces that rank view over fit, who should compare the M4S's 179°; riders who put field of view ahead of magnetic lens changes; and flat-light riders eyeing a Sunny Onyx colorway, whose spare is S2.

Common Questions

What is the difference between the Anon M5S and the M5?
Size and view. The M5S frame is 94 × 164 mm with 160° / 87.6° of view in Anon's size guide; the M5 is 96 × 171 mm with 176.5° / 95.2°. Anon fits the M5S to small and medium faces and the M5 to medium and large.
Which scaled Anon goggle fits a Small helmet?
On Anon's helmet chart the M5S is the scaled goggle paired with Small helmets; the M4S is paired with Medium and Large, while neither the M6S nor the Nesa S is listed. Anon calls its chart a starting point, so try the goggle with your helmet on.
Anon M5S or M6S for a small face?
Both are Anon's scaled Magna-Tech goggles for small-to-medium faces. The M5S lists more view in a slightly bigger frame (160° / 87.6° on 94 × 164 mm, against the M6S's 153° / 85.6° on 92 × 162 mm) and uses a flat-toric lens; the M6S is cylindrical on a single-density frame.
What does Low Bridge mean on the Anon M5S?
It is Anon's version for lower nose bridges, with extra face foam in the nose pocket that Anon says closes the gap and improves the seal there. Regular Bridge is the standard fit.
