Technology

Toric Lens

A lens that curves in both directions — horizontally and vertically — to widen peripheral vision and reduce edge distortion versus a flatter cylindrical lens.

Clarity By POC

POC’s own contrast-enhancing lens technology, tuned to lift definition in flat and variable light. Note this is not a ZEISS lens.

Outrigger Squeeze Lens Swap

A mechanical (not magnetic) release: squeeze the outriggers to unseat and re-seat the lens. It takes a moment to learn but holds securely once set.

Ri-Pel & Anti-Fog

Ri-Pel sheds water and oil on the outer lens while an inner anti-fog coating keeps the view clear, backed by anti-scratch and UV400 protection.

Features

  • ·Wide-view single toric lens
  • ·Spare lens included — Clarity Intense Cloudy Coral for low light
  • ·Bright-day and flat-light options in one purchase
  • ·47% bio-based frame and strap
  • ·Triple-layer face foam and silicone grippers
  • ·Full coating stack — anti-fog, Ri-Pel, anti-scratch, UV400; 172g

The Zonula is POC’s wide-view flagship goggle, built around a single large toric lens. Toric geometry curves both horizontally and vertically, opening up peripheral vision and cutting edge distortion compared with a flatter cylindrical lens. The tint runs on Clarity By POC — POC’s own contrast technology — so be clear on the distinction: unlike the Opsin, this is not a ZEISS lens. Both chase better definition in flat light; they just take different roads to it.

The value is in the box. The Zonula includes a spare lens — a Clarity Intense Cloudy Coral tint for low-light days — so you get a bright-day and a flat-light option in one purchase. Swapping is mechanical, not magnetic: you squeeze the outriggers to release and seat the lens. It takes a moment to learn and isn’t as instant as a magnetic system, but it holds securely once set. The frame and strap are 47% bio-based, with triple-layer face foam and silicone grippers, at 172g.

Coatings are the full POC stack — anti-fog, Ri-Pel, anti-scratch, and UV400. Buy the Zonula if you want the widest field of view and a second lens in the box without a return trip to the shop. Skip it if you’re set on a ZEISS lens, or if you strongly prefer a quick magnetic lens swap — the outrigger squeeze is deliberate by design.

Strengths

  • +Wide-view toric lens with low edge distortion
  • +Spare low-light lens included in the box
  • +47% bio-based frame and strap
  • +Full coating stack — anti-fog, Ri-Pel, anti-scratch, UV400

Best For

Skiers who want the widest field of view and a spare lens included, without a second trip to the shop.

Limitations

  • Clarity By POC lens, not ZEISS — a different tint approach than the Opsin
  • Outrigger-squeeze lens swap is mechanical, slower than a magnetic system
  • One size only, so fit depends on your face shape

Not For

Anyone set on a ZEISS lens, or anyone who wants an instant magnetic lens swap.

Common Questions

Does the POC Zonula include a spare lens?
Yes. The Zonula ships with a spare Clarity Intense Cloudy Coral lens for low-light days, alongside the supplied lens.
Is the Zonula lens made by ZEISS?
No. The Zonula uses Clarity By POC, POC’s own contrast-enhancing lens technology. The ZEISS lens is on the Opsin, not the Zonula.
How do you change the lens on the Zonula?
You squeeze the outriggers to release and re-seat the lens. It is a mechanical swap, not a magnetic one — deliberate but secure once set.
