Clarity — Lens by ZEISS

A ZEISS-made lens on POC’s Clarity tint, tuned to lift contrast and definition so terrain reads more clearly in flat and variable light.

Cylindrical Double Lens

A lens that curves horizontally but stays flat top-to-bottom, with a dual-pane build that fights fogging — a tidy, lower-cost alternative to a spherical lens.

Ri-Pel Coating

A hydrophobic and oleophobic treatment that sheds water and repels oil and fingerprints so the outer lens stays clean.

Anti-Fog & UV400

An inner anti-fog coating to keep the view clear plus UV400 protection against the full UV range.

Features

  • ·ZEISS-made Clarity lens for contrast in flat light
  • ·Cylindrical double lens at a friendly price
  • ·Interchangeable lens for swapping tints
  • ·Triple-layer face foam with a lower nose-bridge cut for airflow
  • ·Silicone strap grippers to hold the goggle to your helmet
  • ·Light 170g frame; ships in a soft case

The Opsin is POC’s value-forward goggle that spends its budget where it counts: the optics. The lens is a cylindrical double lens on POC’s Clarity system with a Lens by ZEISS, tuned to lift contrast and definition in the flat, variable light the Pacific Northwest serves up. A cylindrical lens curves horizontally but stays flat vertically, so you trade a little of the panoramic wraparound of a spherical or toric lens for a lower price and a tidier profile on many faces.

The coating stack is complete — anti-fog inside, Ri-Pel to shed water and oil, anti-scratch outside, and UV400. The soft PU frame carries triple-layer face foam with a lower nose-bridge cut for airflow and silicone strap grippers to lock onto a helmet, and it all comes in at a light 170g. The lens is interchangeable, so you can swap tints down the line.

One honest caveat: the Opsin ships with a soft case only — no spare lens is included. If you want a second tint, you buy it separately. Reach for the Opsin if you want ZEISS-grade contrast in a light frame without paying for a spherical flagship. If you want the widest field of view or a bundled second lens, look at the Zonula instead.

Best For

Skiers who want ZEISS-grade contrast and a light frame without paying flagship money.

Limitations

  • No spare lens in the box — you buy a second tint separately
  • Cylindrical lens gives a narrower field of view than a spherical or toric lens
  • One size only, so fit depends on your face shape

Not For

Anyone who wants the widest possible field of view or a spare lens included — the Zonula suits that better.

Common Questions

Does the POC Opsin come with a spare lens?
No. The Opsin ships with a soft case only. A second tint is available separately since the lens is interchangeable.
Is the Opsin lens made by ZEISS?
Yes. The Opsin uses POC’s Clarity tint on a Lens by ZEISS, tuned to enhance contrast in flat and variable light.
What is the difference between the Opsin and the Zonula?
The Opsin has a cylindrical ZEISS lens, no spare in the box, and a lower price. The Zonula has a wider-view toric lens on Clarity By POC (not ZEISS) and includes a spare lens.
