Marker is unusually direct about where this binding comes from. The catalog says it is "equipped with the same features as its big brother, the Jester X MWerks, apart from a DIN setting of up to 13" - so the MWerks tier is one chassis, stepped down by release range rather than redesigned.

Against the standard Griffon X, this binding lists the same release range, the same stand height, the same toe and the same heel. Marker does not say where the extra money goes. This one adds an MG badge to the catalog's feature row, and it is the heavier of the pair by Marker's own figures. Marker never states which components that badge covers. It is the dearer binding and the heavier one, which is the reverse of what most upgrade paths look like.

So want it for the build Marker declines to itemise, not for a specification advantage it never claims. Unpublished either way: boot sole length range, any certification statement, and the ramp angle.

Best For

Expert skiers whose technician-set release value lands inside DIN 4-13, on alpine or GripWalk adult soles, who want the MWerks build of this chassis and have a ski waist a 90, 105 or 120 mm brake will clear.

Not For

Anyone buying it expecting the lighter Griffon X - it is not. Marker lists 1130 g per binding here against the standard model's 1020 g. Touring boots, since Marker lists this as A / GW A only. And skis needing a 100 or 110 mm brake, which this model does not offer.

Common Questions

What is the difference between the Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks and the standard Griffon X 13?
Both are published at DIN 4-13, both at 14 mm, both using the TP Elite X toe with the Inter Pivot X heel. The MWerks carries an additional MG badge in the feature row and weighs 1130 g per binding against 1020 g. Marker does not say which parts the badge covers, so treat the difference as a build variant rather than a measurable performance step.
What is new on this binding this season?
Three, all stated by Marker: a one-piece cast housing for the TP Elite X toe, a different alloy in the anti-ice rail, and an integrated brake, which brings the binding down to 14 mm where the previous generation sat at 24 mm. The toe figure is given separately as 9 mm.
Do Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks bindings work with GripWalk boots?
Yes. The BOOT TYPE row reads A / GW A, covering adult alpine and adult GripWalk soles only. GripWalk support is declared per binding model and does not carry across a brand line, so confirm it on the exact binding you are buying.
Which brake width do I need for the Marker Griffon X 13 MWerks?
The brake has to clear the waist of your ski, so choose the narrowest that still does - 90, 105 or 120 mm here. There is no 100 or 110 mm option. Bring us your skis and we will match it before mounting.
