Description
All Mountain Snowboard. A quiver-killing balance of freestyle and float.
A true quiver killer, the Burton Counterbalance Snowboard is cozy popping side hits across the mountain, capable in deep powder stashes and even enjoys taking park laps. It achieves this rare balance with a directional shape and snappy flex that drives and floats through turns on groomers and deep days alike. Gender-neutral sizing means just about anyone with an appetite for achieving balance is free to find it here.
ABOUT THE GRAPHIC: Counterbalance: A weight that balances another weight, and the name of this new quiver killer deck. Burton employees and artists Dylan West and Sophie Sellstrom share their personal takes on the board's versatile personality with complementary graphics for the top sheet and base that act as a counterbalance of their own.

The take
“Burton combined DNA from the Deep Thinker, Cartographer, and Balanced Freeride Geometry into the quiver-killer the lineup was missing.”
The Counterbalance is brand new for 2026 and represents a completely different direction from the old true-twin freestyle board that shared the name. This is a directional camber all-mountain board with 8mm of taper, designed as a daily driver for riders who want one board that handles the whole mountain.
The directional camber profile puts camber under both feet for stability and edge hold, with a rockered nose for float in soft snow. Burton's Balanced Freeride Geometry keeps it from feeling too directional on groomers — reviewers consistently note it feels less tapered than the numbers suggest. The Super Fly II 700G core with 45-degree Carbon Highlights keeps weight down while adding snap, and the Sintered WFO base is legitimately fast. Frostbite Edges provide real grip on hardpack.
This is the board for intermediate-to-advanced riders who want a do-everything daily driver. Morning groomers, afternoon trees, powder day float — all without owning a dedicated freeride board. The medium flex sits right in the productive middle: not aggressive, not soft.
