The take

The Stormrider 102 is Stöckli's powder and freeride ski, and it defies the usual trade-offs. At 102mm underfoot with a Big Powder Rocker — longer and more gradual than the standard Stormrider rocker — it delivers genuine deep snow flotation. But the dual titanal construction and racing graphite base give it hard-snow carving performance that no typical powder ski can match.
Testers found it equally capable on firm morning corduroy and soft afternoon snow. The edge hold and precision come from Stöckli's race DNA — this is still a double-metal Swiss-made ski, and it holds an edge like one. The Freeride Tip & Tail Technology reduces swing weight for easier maneuverability in tight terrain, while the burly construction delivers confidence at high speeds.
The trade-off is that this ski demands active skiing. Passive technique won't unlock its potential — you need to drive it. It's also heavier than some pure powder skis at 1,990g per ski, a consequence of the dual titanal and wider platform. But for skiers who want one ski that handles powder days and groomer days without compromise, the Stormrider 102 is as close as it gets.
