Boot Sole
Look's entry-level binding. The SPX heel gives you 27mm of vertical elasticity and the toe has 45mm of lateral travel — solid numbers for the price. It's lighter and lower-profile than the Pivot, which some skiers actually prefer for all-mountain cruising where you don't need bomb-proof park retention.
No turntable heel like the Pivot — this is a conventional heel design. For groomer-focused intermediate skiers, that's totally fine. Good value.
Best For
Budget-conscious intermediate skiers who want a reliable GripWalk-compatible binding without breaking the bank.
Not For
Park skiers or aggressive all-mountain riders who need the Pivot's superior impact retention — spend the extra on a Pivot 2.0 11.
Common Questions
- What is the difference between the Look SPX and Look Pivot?
- The Pivot has a turntable heel with longer elastic travel and better impact retention. The SPX uses a conventional heel — lighter, cheaper, but less forgiving under big hits. Pivot for park/freeride, SPX for all-mountain cruising.
