Smith 4D MAG Snow Goggle
4D MAG family · 26/27

Technology
BirdsEye Vision
A downward curve in the spherical lens that opens up the lower part of your view, so more of the terrain below you and the riders beside you stay in frame. Smith rates it at roughly a 25% wider field of view than the I/O MAG.
ChromaPop
A contrast-enhancing lens tint that separates colors the eye tends to confuse, so texture and edges in the snow read more clearly in flat, variable light. It lifts contrast; it is not a safety device.
SMITH MAG Lens-Change
Magnets pull each lens into position for a quick swap between the two included tints, so you can change lenses on the hill without wrestling the frame.
5X Anti-Fog Inner Lens
An inner-lens treatment Smith calls 5X, aimed at holding off fogging longer in the wet, warm conditions that cloud a goggle.
Responsive Fit & DriWix Foam
A frame built to flex to your face shape with three-layer DriWix face foam that wicks moisture. A Low Bridge Fit version is offered for lower nose bridges or higher, wider cheekbones.

The Smith 4D MAG is the brand's flagship MAG-series goggle, and its headline is BirdsEye Vision: a downward curve in the spherical carbonic-x lens that opens up the lower part of your view. Smith rates it at roughly a 25% wider field of view than the I/O MAG, which in practice keeps more of the slope below you and the riders beside you in frame. The lens runs Smith's ChromaPop tint, tuned to lift contrast so texture in the snow reads more clearly in the flat, gray light the Pacific Northwest serves up.
The 4D MAG ships with two ChromaPop lenses — one for bright light, one for low light — and swaps between them on the SMITH MAG system, where magnets pull each lens into position for a fast change on the hill. A 5X anti-fog inner lens fights fogging, the Responsive Fit frame carries three-layer DriWix face foam, and the QuickFit strap with a clip buckle makes it quick to dial over a helmet. It is a medium fit, and a Low Bridge Fit version is offered for lower nose bridges or wider, higher cheekbones.
The 4D MAG is not designed to be worn over eyeglasses, so if you ride in prescription glasses, look elsewhere or ask us about an insert. It also sits at the top of Smith's goggle line, and much of what you pay for is the BirdsEye lens and the two-lens MAG bundle — if you want the same ChromaPop optics and magnetic swap without the expanded lower field of view, the I/O MAG covers that for less. Step further down and the Squad drops to a cylindrical lens, a Fog-X rather than 5X inner coating, and a slide-adjust strap without the MAG magnets. Reach for the 4D MAG if a wide field of view and a bundled second lens matter most; skip it if you wear glasses under your goggle or want to save money without giving up ChromaPop.
Safety — read this
A goggle shields your eyes from wind, glare, and debris and helps you see the terrain — it does not prevent injury. ChromaPop is a contrast-enhancing tint, not a medical or safety device. The lens carries full-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. Replace a scratched or cracked lens, since it distorts your view, and check that the goggle meets your helmet with no gap across the forehead.

Limitations
- −Not built for wearing over eyeglasses
- −Flagship price — top of Smith's goggle line
- −Sold in medium fit; Low Bridge Fit is a separate model

- Yes. It ships with two ChromaPop lenses — one bright-light tint and one low-light tint — plus a hard case, microfiber bag, and lens protector.
- What is BirdsEye Vision on the 4D MAG?
- BirdsEye Vision is a downward curve in the spherical lens that opens up your lower field of view. Smith rates it at roughly a 25% wider field of view than the I/O MAG.
- What is the difference between the 4D MAG and the I/O MAG?
- Both use ChromaPop lenses and the SMITH MAG magnetic lens-change system. The 4D MAG adds BirdsEye Vision for a wider field of view, while the I/O MAG costs less without that expanded lower view.
- Can I wear the 4D MAG over glasses?
- No. The 4D MAG is not designed as an over-the-glasses goggle. If you need vision correction, ask us about a prescription insert or an OTG model.
