The Rome Brass AW is the surf-and-tweak binding in Rome's women's line. Its AsymWrap platform joins the baseplate to the heelhoop at three points instead of four, and that one choice sets the character: more of the board's flex reaches your feet, so the binding feels direct and easy to press, and it gives up some of the lateral support a four-point chassis holds at speed. Rome sums it up as 'surfy yet responsive,' which is a fair line.
Flex sits toward the Playful end of Rome's scale — read that as easy-flexing and forgiving, not stiff. The parts follow suit. The UltraFlex Pro ankle strap is overmolded with an open edge that spreads load across the top of the foot; the ProGrip toe strap locks over the toe box; and a 2-degree dual-density footbed cants the knees and hips into line for long days. It is a soft, accommodating binding a beginner can grow on and an advanced rider can still play with.
You can tune it to your stance. Kink Ladders give the ankle strap two extra positions, the baseplate adjusts with no tools, and the heel cup is forged aluminum — light and strong. Rome also drops its Never Miss a Day spare-parts kit in the box. None of this turns it into a charger; it makes it easy to live with.
If you ride hard and want maximum response, this is the wrong Brass. The Brass FW shares the name but runs FullWrap — four connection points and a stiffer flex — which Rome describes as a bombproof, hyper-responsive build for deep landings and high speeds. The AW hands that back on purpose. Take the FW to charge; take the AW for feel and forgiveness. And because Brass is women's-specific geometry, a rider who needs a men's or unisex fit wants the 390 Boss, the same AsymWrap platform in a different shape.
Two things to settle before you pay. Rome does not publish which insert pattern the mounting disk fits — not in the 26/27 catalog, not on the product page — so whether it bolts to your board has no official answer; check the disk in the box against your inserts, or have us confirm it. Rome's own baseplate figures also disagree between sources on how much glass is in the nylon, and it lists no per-size boot range and no weight. Nobody at PTO has ridden this binding, so everything above reads Rome's published specs rather than time on snow.

AsymWrap Platform
The baseplate joins the heelhoop at three connection points rather than four. Rome says this frees more of the board’s flex to reach your feet for a "surfy yet responsive" ride with more board feel and room to press and tweak. The trade is some of the lateral support at speed that a four-point platform holds.
UltraFlex Pro Ankle Strap
An overmolded ankle strap with an open 3D edge. Rome builds it to spread pressure across the top of the foot for an even, accommodating hold.
ProGrip Toe Strap
A toe strap that wraps and locks over the toe box to keep the boot from creeping.
Kink Ladders
Two extra mounting positions for the ankle strap, so you can move it up or down to suit your boot and stance.

Women's boots in S or M/L. A beginner-to-advanced rider who wants one forgiving all-mountain binding for cruising, small side hits and the odd powder day, who values board feel and room to tweak, and would rather dial in fit than chase maximum response.
