Rome's 390 Boss FW sits at the top of the line, and one part earns it that spot: the FullWrap platform. The 390 Boss comes in three heelhoop platforms on one shared chassis — the baseplate, straps and footbed never change — so the platform is the entire decision. The FullWrap is the firmest of the trio, and if you will not use that firmness, it is the wrong pick.
The "locked-in" feel has a mechanical basis, not just a tagline. The FullWrap heelhoop meets the baseplate at four connection points where the AsymWrap meets it at three, and more contact means less flex and faster energy transfer from boot to edge. Rome labels the platform "bombproof" and aims it at big landings and speed; read that as hold rather than comfort. We have not ridden the 26/27 FW, so treat the call as a structural read off the platform and flex, not a ride report — and Rome's flex figure, 6-7 of 10, is its own ten-point marketing scale, not a measured number.
Everything else is common to all three platforms and stays out of the way: a familiar ratcheting ankle-and-toe setup, Kink Ladders that add two more ankle-strap positions, an adjustable baseplate, and Rome's Never Miss a Day guarantee. The baseplate, straps and footbed are the same parts the AsymWrap and HeelWrap ride on — only the heelhoop platform changes.
That makes the choice within the family simple. If you want to butter, press and stay loose, the AsymWrap gives more board feel. If you are new, or you cruise and want forgiveness, the HeelWrap is softer, and this firmness would only get in your way. If you want a binding that keeps hold when you point it at speed, jumps and long landings, this is the one — accepting that Rome publishes no weight for it, so calling it the heaviest is a structural read, not a measured figure.

Technology
FullWrap platform
Rome's stiffest 390 Boss heelhoop platform and, in its own catalog words, "bombproof" — built for deep landings, high speeds and maximum energy transfer. The structural reason it is the most locked-in of the three wraps: the FullWrap heelhoop chassis bolts to the baseplate at four connection points, where the AsymWrap uses three and the HeelWrap two. Rome prints the headline and that connection detail, and no deeper mechanism.
Kink Ladders
Rome's ankle-strap adjustability feature: the Kink Ladders provide two additional ankle-strap positioning options, so the strap can be moved to suit your boot. Rome states the function and nothing more.
Shared mounting disc
The 390 Boss ships with one disc used across the FW, AW and HW. A third-party spec table lists it as compatible with 2x4, 4x4 and Channel boards; Rome does not print the mount pattern on its own page, so confirm the disc in the box against your board before you count on the fit.
