Flex
Forgiving yet responsive (Nitro's wording) — softer than the Team; 3/5 is PTO's read
Flex ratings are the brand’s own and do not compare across brands.
Entry first: the One is a two-strap binding, not a rear-entry or step-on. You ratchet the ankle and toe straps with the Speedwheel 3.0 buckles every time — no highback-drop entry, no step-on baseplate. If quick entry is your priority this is not the model, but the payoff is the dialed, adjustable fit that makes strap bindings the freestyle standard.
Compatibility is where a binding can genuinely not fit your board, so check it before ordering. The One mounts on a 2x4 Mini Disc, which fits 2x4 insert patterns and Burton's Channel system. Look at your board's mounting holes; a 2x4 or Channel board is good to go, and if you cannot tell, send us the board model rather than guessing. There is no DIN, no release value, and no brake on a snowboard binding — none of that exists here, and no binding makes a fall safer.
How it rides is the whole point of the One. Nitro gives the baseplate increased flexibility relative to the Team, so you get a forgiving, surf-inspired flex that presses and butters easily and shrugs off slightly sketchy landings — that forgiveness is exactly why it reads Response 6 rather than the Team's 7. Underneath, Air Dampening cushions landings and takes the sting out of flat, chattery snow, which is what earns the Comfort 8. The feel is playful and easy first, responsive second: great for park and all-mountain jibbing, less suited to laying hard, fast carves on ice.
Sizing is by boot, never by weight — Medium fits US 7.0 to 10.5 men's, Large fits US 11.0 to 14.0. There is no Small in this model, so a boot under US 7 will not fit it. Pull your boot's US or Mondopoint number and match the printed range; too big and your boot floats in the heel cup, too small and it crushes your toes.
Will it fit your board?
The mounting disk fits 2x4, EST/Channel insert patterns.
Technology
Air Dampening
Nitro's under-foot cushioning, which the One is the first price point in the line to carry. Nitro credits it with maximum cushioning: it soaks up landings and takes the sting out of flat, chattery snow, and it is a big part of why the One reads Comfort 8.
Übergrip Toe Strap
A toe strap that works two ways — over the top of the boot, or capped around the toe — so you can set it the way your boot likes.
3° Canted Footbed
The footbed is angled 3 degrees to tip your feet toward a natural, slightly inward stance rather than sitting them flat.
Features
- ·3D OptiFrame ankle strap
- ·Speedwheel 3.0 buckle system
- ·New connector and ratchet straps
- ·2x4 Mini Disc
Strengths
- +Forgiving, surf-inspired flex that is easy to press and butter — Nitro gives the baseplate increased flexibility relative to the stiffer Team.
- +Air Dampening under the foot cushions landings and calms flat, chattery snow; the One is the first price point in the line to get it.
- +The Übergrip toe strap caps either over the top of the boot or around the toe, so you set it the way your boot prefers.
- +Speedwheel 3.0 ratchets buckle fast, and a 3° canted footbed angles your feet toward a natural stance.
- +Nitro rates it Comfort 8 out of 10 — a genuinely easygoing binding, not a stiff one sold as friendly.
Best For
Intermediate riders progressing in the park who still cruise the whole mountain, jibbers and pressers who want a soft, forgiving flex, and anyone after Air Dampening cushioning at a friendlier price point — a one-binding quiver that leans freestyle but keeps all-mountain comfort.
Limitations
- −Response 6 on Nitro's scale — less edge drive than the stiffer Team, which reads 7.
- −The freestyle-leaning flex is not built for laying hard, fast carves on hardpack or ice.
- −Offered in Medium and Large only — no Small, so a boot under US 7 cannot be fitted.
- −Two-strap ratchet entry only — no rear-entry or step-on convenience.
- −Not ridden by us. Everything here is read off Nitro's 26/27 dealer manual and catalog specs.
Not For
Riders who want speed-entry or step-on (this is two-strap ratchet), chargers and carvers chasing maximum edge response (get the Team or Phantom), riders who need a stiff, locked-down all-mountain feel, and smaller-footed riders under US 7 men's — this model has no Small.

Common Questions
- What boards will the Nitro One bindings fit?
- The One mounts with a 2x4 Mini Disc, which fits 2x4 insert patterns and Burton's Channel system. Check your board's mounting holes before ordering, and if you are unsure of your board's pattern, tell us the board model and we will confirm.
- Is the One good for beginners or for park riders?
- Both, leaning freestyle. Its forgiving, surf-inspired flex and Air Dampening make it easy to press, butter, and land on, which suits progressing park riders and improving all-mountain riders. Hard chargers who want maximum edge response will prefer the stiffer Team.
- How do I size the One — by weight or boot?
- By your boot. Medium fits US 7.0 to 10.5 men's (Mondopoint 25.0 to 28.5) and Large fits US 11.0 to 14.0 (Mondopoint 29.0 to 32.0). Match your actual boot size to the range; there is no Small offered in this model.
- One versus Team — which should I get?
- Get the One if you want a softer, more forgiving flex for park and pressing with Air Dampening comfort (Response 6). Get the Team if you want a stiffer, more responsive all-mountain binding for charging groomers and holding an edge on firm snow (Response 7).
