102mm— Wide (102mm+)
The Hawx Magna 100 is Atomic's entry into their wide-fit lineup. 102mm last, Prolite shell, Select Silver liner — nothing fancy, just a solid platform for wider feet at a fair price. Memory Fit lets you heat-mold shell and cuff if the stock shape doesn't match, and the AFS removable cuff spoiler adds room around the calf when needed. Energy Link ties the shell and cuff together for a more connected flex feel than you'd expect at this price point.
Compared to the Nordica Sportmachine 3 100, the Magna offers a roomier 3D Stretch Toe Box and better shell customization through Memory Fit. The Salomon Select Wide 100 is another option at this price, but the Atomic's Prolite construction tends to feel lighter on foot. If you need GripWalk soles, look at the Hawx Magna 100 GW variant instead.
Strengths
- +Wide 102mm last with 3D Stretch Toe Box — no pinching for wide forefoot shapes
- +Memory Fit heat-moldable shell and cuff for a custom fit without aftermarket work
- +AFS removable cuff spoiler accommodates larger calves
Best For
Wide-footed intermediate skiers looking for a comfortable all-mountain boot at a reasonable price.
Limitations
- −Select Silver liner is basic — serious skiers will want an aftermarket footbed
- −ISO 5355 sole only (no GripWalk) — upgrade to Magna 100 GW for better traction
- −100 flex gets soft for aggressive or heavier skiers — consider the 110 S
Not For
Narrow or medium feet (100mm → Hawx Prime), aggressive experts who need 110+ flex, or anyone who wants walk-mode or GripWalk.
Common Questions
- What is the difference between the Hawx Magna 100 and Hawx Magna 100 GW?
- Same boot, different sole. The GW version has cantable GripWalk pads for better walking traction and compatibility with GripWalk/MNC bindings. The standard version uses ISO 5355 alpine soles compatible with all standard alpine bindings.
- Can I heat-mold the Hawx Magna 100 shell at home?
- No. Memory Fit requires a professional oven at a ski shop. The shell and cuff heat at a specific temperature for a set time, then you step in and it conforms to your foot shape. Most shops do this free with purchase.
- Is the Hawx Magna 100 good for wide feet?
- Yes, this is specifically designed for wide feet at 102mm last width. The 3D Stretch Toe Box and removable AFS cuff spoiler add extra volume where most wide-footed skiers need it.
