CAPiTA Kazu Kokubo Pro

The take
“Kazu's compact freeride machine — floats in powder, crushes crud, and holds an edge on groomers with near-camber grip.”
The Kazu Kokubo Pro is CAPiTA's big mountain freestyle board — designed for riders who blend power and creativity beyond the ropes. The directional shape with 0.8" setback and radical taper sinks the tail in powder while the wider nose floats. The Resort V3 Directional camber puts a raised camber platform through the inserts for edge hold, with elevated contact points for powder float.
The Panda Hover Core is ultralight with excellent dampening — it absorbs rough terrain without transmitting every bump. CarbonFlax amplifiers add stability and vibration damping while delivering outstanding pop without heavy pre-loading. The skinless core ash woodgrain topsheet saves 220g over standard topsheet processes.
On snow, the Kazu rides stiffer than its 6.5 rating suggests. Edge hold is impressive — nearly full-camber grip despite the hybrid profile. In powder, the tapered tail and setback provide genuine float. In trees and chutes, the compact chassis is nimble and responsive.
The 2026 model upgrades to the Hyperdrive ADV XT sintered base with factory Moonshot Omni-Tune — exceptionally fast out of the box.
The catch: this board demands technique. If your riding isn't solid, the Kazu will expose it. It's not forgiving, and it's not cheap.
