The Union Force Classic is the simplest, long-running build in Union's Force line, kept plain and priced at $249.95. Union scores it 8 for all-mountain, 8 for performance, 7 for freestyle and 7 for freeride: the shape of a do-everything binding rather than a specialist. The flex reads 6 of 10 on Union's scale, mid and slightly soft of center, easier to ride all day than the firmer standard Force. This is the value all-rounder of the family, not a premium version of it.
The easygoing character comes from a lighter, simpler chassis. The baseplate and highback are S4 and S1 Duraflex ST nylon — lower-numbered grades than the standard Force's S9 and S19 — which hold that mid, forgiving flex at 1.87 kg a pair against the Force's 2.20. Between the baseplate and your board sits a Multi-Density Thermoformed EVA bushing that cushions the ride; the standard Force steps up to its Molecular Bushing Suspension System, a dedicated damping layer the Classic does without. The ankle and toe straps step down from the standard Force's, too. Canting is built in, and setup runs on the Cam-Lock forward lean and EXO Quick-Lock straps.
In the line, the standard Force is the step up in damping and top-end response — stiffer at flex 7, heavier, with the Molecular bushing and premium straps for a hundred dollars more. Worth noting: Union actually rates the Classic 8 for performance against the Force's 7, so the two are closer in feel than the price gap suggests and differ mostly in components and damping. Below the Classic, the STR is the softer, more forgiving entry Camber Disk binding at 1.82 kg. For pointing it downhill fast, the Falcor is the freeride specialist — Union 10/10 freeride on a lighter Mini Disk, 1.80 kg a pair. And for a soft, surfy park feel, the Mini Disk Strata is built for that.
Two things to get right before you buy. Mounting: the Camber Disk fits 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel boards, but not Burton's old 3D three-hole pattern — on a 3D board it physically will not mount. Sizing follows your boot, not your weight, and the Force Classic runs S through L only, with no XL — riders who need one should look at the standard Force. We have not ridden the 26/27 Force Classic ourselves; this is read off Union's own catalog and price sheet, on a long-running carry-over build.

Technology
Camber Disk
Union's full-size mounting disk, compatible with 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel boards. The larger footprint keeps more of the baseplate driving the board than a Mini Disk does, favoring damping and drive over the softer board-feel the Mini Disk models trade for. It is the same disk the standard Force uses.
Multi-Density Thermoformed EVA bushing
A multi-density EVA bushing between the baseplate and your board that cushions the ride and tunes response. It is the Classic's simpler alternative to the standard Force's Molecular Bushing Suspension System, so it gives up that model's dedicated vibration-damping layer.
S4 / S1 Duraflex ST chassis
Duraflex ST nylon in the baseplate (S4) and highback (S1) — lower-numbered grades than the standard Force's S9/S19. They hold the Classic's mid, slightly forgiving 6/10 flex and keep it lighter and cheaper, at the cost of top-end response. They drive the board; they are not a safety device.
Exoframe 4.0 ankle strap
Union's molded ankle strap, wrapping the boot to spread pressure and hold the heel. A fit-and-feel feature, paired with the EXO Quick-Lock strap adjustment. It is a step below the standard Force's Exoframe 6.0 w/ PU Core.
