Flex ratings are the brand’s own and do not compare across brands.
Union badges the Force "the #1 Binding in Snowboarding" and says it works for any rider, in any condition, in any terrain. Its own scorecard tells a more useful story: all-mountain 9, but freestyle 7 and freeride 7. That is the shape of a generalist — very good everywhere, class-leading nowhere. The flex reads 7 of 10 on Union's scale, mid-to-firm rather than soft and surfy. This is a do-everything binding, and its numbers say so plainly.
The all-round character is built, not marketed. The baseplate and highback are high-fiberglass Duraflex ST, which adds response without much weight and holds its flex when it gets cold — that is where the mid-firm feel comes from. Underneath sits Union's Molecular Bushing suspension layer, an EVA pad between the baseplate and your board that soaks up chatter on hard, rough snow. Pair that with the full-size Camber Disk — a bigger footprint than Union's Mini Disk models — and you get drive and damping instead of the softer board-feel a Mini Disk gives up for it. Canting is built in, and setup runs on the Cam-Lock lean adjuster and EXO Quick-Lock straps.
None of that makes it a specialist, and the spec sheet is honest about it. If your day is mostly pointing it downhill fast, the Falcor is the freeride pick — Union rates it 10 of 10 freeride on a lighter Mini Disk, 1.80 kg a pair against the Force's 2.20. If you live in the park, the softer, surfier Mini Disk Strata is built for that. And if you want more outright drive across the whole hill, the stiffer Atlas is Union's most balanced binding at 8/8/8/8. The Force sits in the middle of all of them on purpose.
Two things to get right before you buy. First, mounting: the Camber Disk fits 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel boards, but not Burton's old 3D three-hole pattern — on a 3D board it physically will not mount. Second, sizing follows your boot, not your weight; the Force runs S through XL, but XL comes only in Black or White, while Brown, Yellow and Pink stop at L. We have not ridden the 26/27 Force ourselves — this is read off Union's catalog — but it is a long-running carry-over model, and everything here is Union's own published spec.

Technology
Camber Disk
Union's full-size mounting disk, compatible with 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel boards. The larger footprint keeps more of the baseplate driving the board than a Mini Disk does, which is where the Force's drive and damping come from rather than the softer board-feel the Mini Disk models trade for.
Molecular Bushing Suspension System
A Molecular EVA pad that sits between the baseplate and your board topsheet, acting as a suspension layer to soak up chatter on hard, rough snow.
S9 / S19 Duraflex ST chassis
High-fiberglass Duraflex ST nylon in the baseplate (S9) and highback (S19). It adds response without much weight and holds its flex in the cold — the source of the mid-to-firm feel. It drives the board; it is not a safety device.
Exoframe 6.0 ankle strap w/ PU Core
A molded ankle strap with a PU core that wraps the boot for even pressure and heel hold. A fit-and-response feature, paired with the EXO Quick-Lock strap adjustment.

Riders after the lightest, most responsive freeride binding (that is the Falcor, 10/10 freeride at 1.80 kg a pair), dedicated park jibbers who want the softest surfy feel (the Mini Disk Strata), anyone mounting a Burton 3D board (the Camber Disk will not fit), and riders needing XL in Brown, Yellow or Pink — those colorways stop at L.

Common Questions
- What is the difference between the Union Force and the Force Team?
- They share the Camber Disk chassis and the all-mountain intent. The Force Team runs upgraded components and comes in lighter at 2.00 kg a pair against the standard Force's 2.20; the Force Classic is the third in the family at 1.87 kg. Same mounting disk across all three.
- Will the Union Force fit my board?
- The Camber Disk mounts on 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel (EST) boards. It does not fit Burton's older 3D three-hole pattern — on a 3D board it will not physically mount. If you are unsure what your board uses, ask us and we will check.
- What size Union Force should I order?
- Size follows your boot, not your weight. Union's chart runs S for about US men's 5.5–7.5, M for 8–10, L for 10.5–13 and XL for 13–15. XL comes only in Black or White. Tell us your boot and we will confirm the size.
- Does the Force have a release like a ski binding?
- No. A snowboard binding has no DIN and no release mechanism — it holds your boot to the board. Its specs describe feel and response, not protection.
