Union Cadet Pro 2026

The Union Cadet Pro is a traditional two-strap binding built specifically for kids who are past the rental-gear stage and ready for equipment that actually performs. It runs a 5/10 flex — soft enough that a younger rider can engage the board without fighting stiff components, yet structured enough to give real feedback underfoot when they start carving or hitting small features. The Stage 19 S Duraflex highback is a scaled-down version of the same design used in Union's Force Team binding, so there is genuine board feel and heel-hold here, not just the bare minimum you find in entry-level kids' gear. The Exoframe 3.0 ankle strap and TS 2.1 toe strap grip securely without creating pressure points, which matters a lot for kids who are still figuring out their stance. Three-degree canted footbeds reduce knee strain during long days, and the EXT Thermoformed EVA bushing in the baseplate smooths out the chatter on groomers without killing energy transfer. The Camber disc mounts on 2x4, 4x4, and Burton Channel boards, so these fit the vast majority of kids' decks out there.

These are for kids — Small and Medium sizes only — progressing from beginner to intermediate. Union sizes them by boot rather than age: Small fits roughly US Kids 3 to 5.5, and Medium picks up from there to about US Kids 7.5, so check your child's actual boot size against the size you pick. The soft flex and youth-specific sizing make them genuinely excellent for that age group, but that is exactly why adult riders or larger teens should not try to make these work: the sizing tops out well before adult territory and the flex will feel unresponsive under a heavier, stronger rider. If your kid has grown out of the Cadet Pro's size range, look at Union's Contact or Force in adult sizing instead. These are standard ratchet-strap bindings, not step-on, so they work with any regular snowboard boot — no proprietary boot purchase required.
