The Union Atlas Pro sits at the stiff, forged-carbon peak of Union's all-mountain range, and the scores that frame it are Union's own, not ours: all-mountain 10, freeride 9, freestyle 8, with a flex Union puts at 9/10. Read together they describe a hard-charging, do-everything binding that tilts a little toward freeride and is built to be driven rather than ridden soft. Union badges it for intermediate-to-advanced riders, and that is the honest ceiling and floor of who it suits. If you want a soft, forgiving feel underfoot, this is the wrong binding.
The stiffness is built, not just badged. The chassis is Union's highest-fiberglass Duraflex CB — the S7 baseplate and S14 highback — which holds its shape and hands edge input to the board quickly instead of flexing and washing it out. Over that sits Union's Italian forged-carbon footbed, a light, rigid platform exclusive to Union; underfoot it keeps the power path short, which is where the instant, precise response comes from. Canting is built in, forward lean runs off an integrated dial, and at 1.96 kg per pair it stays light for a flagship.
Where it sits in the line is worth knowing before you buy. By Union's own flex numbers the Atlas Pro is the stiffest of their all-mountain bindings — the Force reads 7, the Atlas 8, the Atlas Pro 9. The standard Atlas is the softer, cheaper pick, an even 8/8/8/8 across Union's four ratings and their most balanced binding; it covers most all-mountain riders for less money. The Force is the softer, heavier all-rounder at 2.20 kg per pair. If your days are mostly spent pointing downhill, the Falcor is the freeride tool, not this one. The Atlas Pro is the stiff, driven end of that group, and it is priced there too, at $499.95.
Two things to sort out before you order. Mounting first: the Camber Disk bolts to boards cut for 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel inserts, but it does not fit Burton's older 3D three-hole pattern — on a 3D board it will not mount at all. Sizing second: pick by your boot, not your body weight, and note the Atlas Pro comes in S, M and L only, with no XL, so riders in US men's 13 and up boots are out of range. We have not ridden the 26/27 Atlas Pro ourselves — this is read off Union's catalog and order sheet — so treat the ride notes as Union's own spec, not a ride report.

Technology
Italian-Made Forged Carbon footbed
Forged Carbon is a 3D-formed carbon exclusive to Union. As the footbed material it is a light, rigid platform underfoot, so input reaches the board with little flex lost — a feel-and-response part, not protection.
S7 / S14 Duraflex CB chassis
The highest-fiberglass nylon in Union's lineup in the baseplate (S7) and highback (S14) — stiffer and more responsive than Duraflex ST, aimed at advanced riders. It holds its shape and hands off edge input quickly, which is where the flex-9 stiffness comes from.
Camber Disk
Union's full-size mounting disk, compatible with 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel boards. The larger footprint keeps more of the baseplate driving the board than a Mini Disk does, favoring damping and drive — the match for a stiff all-mountain binding.
Hybrid 2.0 ankle strap + Extruded 3D Aluminum heelcup
A molded ankle strap with a TPE core over an extruded aluminum heelcup. It wraps the boot for even pressure and locks the heel for response and drive — a fit-and-feel mechanism, not a safety device.

- The standard Atlas is the softer, more balanced binding — flex 8 and an even 8/8/8/8 across Union's four ratings — and it costs less. - Will the Union Atlas Pro fit my snowboard?
- It rides on Union's Camber Disk, which mounts on 4x2, 4x4 and Burton Channel (EST) boards. It does not fit Burton's older 3D three-hole pattern — on a 3D board it physically will not mount. If you are not sure which inserts your board has, send us the model and we will check.
- What size Union Atlas Pro should I order?
- Size by your boot, not your weight. Union's chart runs S for about US men's 5.5–7.5, M for 8–10, and L for 10.5–13; there is no XL, so boots above US men's 13 are out of range. All three colorways — Black, Stone and Kazu Kokubo — come in S, M and L. Give us your boot and we will confirm the fit.
- Does the Atlas Pro have a DIN or a release like a ski binding?
- No. A snowboard binding has no DIN and no release setting — it holds your boot to the board. The forged carbon and Duraflex CB describe stiffness, feel and response, not protection; nothing here is designed to release in a fall.
