The take

Bataleon's volume-shifted pow slasher — short, wide, directional, and built to feel like surfing. The most affordable Bataleon in the lineup.

The Party Wave is Bataleon's volume-shifted powder and all-mountain slasher. Short, wide, directional, and built to feel like surfing. Key numbers: 20mm of taper, 40mm setback over the board length, waist widths from 260mm to 275mm, and Bataleon recommends sizing down 5-10cm from your normal all-mountain length. The shorter length plus extra width gives you the same effective surface area with a board that's significantly easier to maneuver in tight terrain.

The 3BT base shape with asymmetric SideKick — high sidelift in the nose, low in the tail — combined with the tapered shape and setback means the nose rides up in soft snow naturally. In powder, this thing floats without you having to lean back and burn your rear leg. On groomers, it's a slasher, not a carver — happiest making quick, surfy edge-to-edge turns. The short length and wide platform make it nimble in trees. Bi-Ax fiberglass keeps the torsional flex loose enough that the board rewards playful, loose riding.

At $415.20, the Party Wave is the most affordable Bataleon in the lineup and makes a great second board — the one you grab on powder days or when you want to have fun without thinking too hard. It's also a legitimate option as a first board for intermediate riders who mostly ride trees, side hits, and soft snow.
