The take

Your first real board after rentals — soft enough to forgive everything, built well enough to last those first two seasons.

The Lectra Abstract is Nitro's entry-level women's board, and it does exactly one thing: make learning to snowboard less frustrating. Cam-Out camber gives you a touch of real edge engagement (better than pure rocker) while the early rise in the nose and tail keeps you from catching edges every other run. The 4/10 flex means you can initiate turns with minimal effort — you don't need to muscle this board into doing anything.

Construction is straightforward and honest for the price. Powercore (poplar, not the upgraded Powercore II), extruded base (slower but zero maintenance), standard steel edges (not Railkiller), ABS sidewalls. Nothing fancy, nothing wrong with it. This is a $350 board that does its job.

The directional twin shape rides slightly better going forward, which is what beginners naturally do. You can still try switch, but this board gently prefers one direction. Radial sidecut keeps turns simple and predictable — no surprises.

Be realistic about what this board is. It's not going to grow with you past your second season. Once you can link turns confidently and start wanting more speed or edge hold, you'll feel its limits. That's normal — it's a starter board, and a good one.
