Skiing Beyond Generations — At Ogasaka Ski, we believe that skiing is more than just a sport. It is an experience that connects people and generations. In an ever-changing world, we remain true to our core values as we step into a new era, creating new value and delivering the joy and excitement of skiing to future generations.

Ogasaka has been hand-building skis in Nagano, Japan since 1912. Drawing on the expertise and passion cultivated over more than a century, each pair is built with wood cores selected and shaped in-house. Outside Japan, Ogasaka is rarely seen — we're proud to be an authorized U.S. dealer.

Ogasaka Engineering · Core Technologies

MAJC — Multi Arc Jointed Curve

The sidecut is designed as a series of connected arcs. By analyzing ski behavior during turns and placing arcs of the appropriate radius in the right positions, this design enables controlled turns with precise steering, grip, and propulsion.

DT — Dynamic Tail

By moving the tail's contact point closer to the boot center, the ski initiates turns with a quick tail release. The increased edge contact area enhances grip and generates acceleration as the skier exits the turn.

PPF — Power Platform Function

An aluminum alloy sheet (A7178) embedded in the core increases rigidity underfoot, improving grip while keeping tip and tail relatively flexible. Prevents the ski from bottoming out and improves stability.

FFS — Front Float System

A front rocker shape that positions the top edge's snow contact point a few percent closer to the boot's center than conventional designs. Works in tandem with FLF to optimally distribute resistance during turns, delivering stable edge grip and smooth riding regardless of snow conditions.

FLF — Front Lead Function

Sharpened edges make it easier to flex the ski and allow a greater cant angle, enabling "effortless" and "quick" downhill turns. Sharper edges increase snow contact length for better grip and stability, and expand the range of edge movement for easier speed control.

SRED Plate System

Next-generation plate system (Patent No. 7577397) that maximizes the ski's natural flex. A patented reversible flip guide enables separate GS/long-turn and SL/short-turn settings.

Ogasaka was founded in 1912 in Nagano, Japan — over 110 years of continuous ski manufacturing. Every pair is still hand-built in Nagano with wood cores selected and shaped in-house.

When will the 2026/27 Ogasaka skis arrive?

Our next shipment is expected in September 2026. Ogasaka produces in very small annual quantities and U.S. allocation is tightly limited — if there's a specific model or size you want, contact us now to pre-order.

Where are Ogasaka skis made?

Every Ogasaka ski is hand-built in Nagano, Japan — the same region where the company was founded in 1912. The factory selects and shapes wood cores in-house, using species chosen for each model's specific performance characteristics.

Why are Ogasaka skis hard to find in the U.S.?

Ogasaka is a well-established brand in Japan but has limited distribution outside of Japan. PTO Ski is an authorized U.S. dealer — contact us for availability.

Which Ogasaka series is right for me?

KEO'S is ideal for skiers focused on carving performance on groomed runs. UNITY is the go-to all-mountain choice with an 81mm waist that handles both groomed and unpacked snow. TC is built for technical competition skiers. E-TURN covers backcountry and powder with waist widths from 85 to 115mm. Call 971-263-2916 for a personal recommendation.

What is the SRED plate system?

SRED is Ogasaka's next-generation plate system (Patent No. 7577397). It maximizes the ski's natural flex and helps the binding engage with the snow more quickly. A patented reversible flip guide allows separate settings for GS/long turns and SL/short turns.

How do I pre-order an Ogasaka ski?
